The Dinney Christmas Party 2024 🎄

We hope everyone had a lovely Christmas! Prior to Christmas Day, we got to celebrate our annual Christmas party with our staff, close friends and family. A lovely evening of food and drinks and a time for everyone to have fun after another busy year 😊

Blists Hill is doing their annual series of 'Christmas Lates' where you can enjoy mulled wine, warming food, and some festive music 🎅

The Dinney today 🏡

After sharing three photos and stories of The Dinney's history last week, we thought it would be nice to share a photo of The Dinney in more recent times!

From a farmhouse and a dairy farm to six cottages and a bed & breakfast, The Dinney has certainly changed over the years since the family bought it in 1977. Over that time, we have tried to keep the traditions of the old buildings and existing barn features and we hope when our guests join us, they can feel that too.

The final image in our mini series was taken in 2014.

If you’ve visited The Dinney, you will have likely met Karen and Keith who took over the day to day running from Karen, John and Hedley’s mother as she retired!

The Bed and Breakfast continues to be part of The Dinney, offering cosy oak-beamed en-suite bedrooms just three miles outside of Bridgnorth. We also offer breakfast using locally sourced fresh produce (the eggs coming from our resident hens).

The next image in our history of The Dinney series is one of the farm taken from above in the 1990s.

At this time, the tithe barn had been converted into Cart, Duck and Drake cottages! When these cottages were being built, the original features from the tithe barn were kept, leaving stunning wooden beams running throughout the cottages.

The Dinney has been a family business for over 30 years. In the next three posts, we’ll be sharing some historical photos of the farm!

Our first photo is of Dinney Farm, taken in 1977. This was when the farm was first purchased by Karen and her brothers (John and Hedley)’s parents, who had recently moved to the area from Bromley Cross in Lancashire. At the time, The Dinney was a derelict house with 150 acres of land and some outbuildings. Their parents aimed to develop it into a dairy farm.
