The Team has worked so hard on the clearance for Stage 1 on the Gardens Journey.

A little preview of the restoration and discovery work we have been doing in the pleasure gardens of Avalon Priory 🌿 this is a sneak peak of the chemical free cleaning that the conservators undertook on the grade II listed Katherine Maltwood sculpture. It was really exciting to see the sculpture come to life with the details being revealed. This sculpture depicts an account in Dugdales Monastican Anglicanum about St Joseph of Arimathea and his arrival in the Isle of Avallon as well as the burial of the Holy Grail beneath Glastonbury Tor

We have our open day this Friday 25th October to showcase the restoration and unveiling of the pleasure gardens from years of overgrowth and brambles and increasing community accessibility to the heritage features 🌿

Please come along to this free event, walk through the beautiful gardens, learn about the history of the gardens and local legends and stories, as well as the story of hope in working in nature. Avalon Priory Pleasure Garden

Hello, everyone. 👋

Supporting community-based projects can bring heartfelt joy to the day.

Seed of Hope, a Somerset CIC, is generating much excitement as the team is diligently working on maintaining the land and restoring the Pleasure Garden at Avalon Priory along the A39 Bath Road.

This week's main task was researching the history of the owners and their affection for Avalon and the Somerset Lands.

Names like William Stradling, Halliday, Pococks Cell, Mr Oxo (the man in the photo below), Bligh Bond, Katherine Maltwood, and Glastonbury Zodiac now occupy my thoughts as I immerse myself in this project, leaving behind the corporate names of Kofax, Citrix, or IT Outage.

There are many diverse ways to work and to find pride in daily tasks, whatever the career. Still, for me, my second Heritage Lottery Funding Project has done just that and has been an incredible journey of exploration and adventures.

Next week will revolve around horticulture – deciding what to plant, maintain, prune, and nurture as we approach our autumn launch. Would you like to join us and revel in the pleasures of the garden?

This makes me so happy.

In Feb 2020, after my mother's passing, LDC and the toxic behaviours of Maria Caulfield were found guilty in the courts of treating me with injustice.

Yet still, they carried on doing it to others. Then Covid hit, and they went to another level of cruelty to their constituency, so much so that I had to relocate to Somerset for health care.

Well, Blooming Done Lewes.
