Some new artwork at the Flying Scotsman Flamborough.

So why are we The Flying Scotsman and not the Puffin, Kittywake or Fishermans Rest???

Our apartment forms the ground floor of what is now Railway House. This beautiful buildings inception was in 1847, set to be the Railway Station's Hotel.

Sadly due to geographical challenges caused at nearby Danes D**e the railway never reached Flamborough. Through the years the building had various uses. Situated in the heart of the village it quickly became a large convenience store as part of the Hull Co-opearative Society.

In 2017 the Flamborough Co-Op relocated close by to it's larger modernised location. Leaving this beautiful building in need of restoration.

Thankfully City Town and Village Living Ltd embraced this challenge. Sympathetically restoring and modernising this symbolic building. Giving new purpose, whilst preserving local architectural history.

Railway House now displays its former glory. The building could be considered a failure of the Victorian Railway. In it's own right this building is a resounding success. Showcasing Victorian architecture and the pursuit of national development, utilised throughout its life and now beautifully restored for years to come.

So with a little irony, our apartment, our little slice of history and its success is named after arguably the worlds most famous train. The greatest symbol of success for the East Coast Mailine and even the Railway. The "Old Co-Op" just didn't have the same ring to it.
