Happy International Dog Day from Teddy, Tigerlily (the one that looks like a pretzel 😁) and Rex who all seem to enjoy sitting on the window seat.

Since last year we have sadly lost Quail and Binky Somerset. I was also very worried about Teddy earlier this year fearing he may not make his 15th birthday 3 months ago but he is now well again and enjoying his holinobs to Sanderling x

Today would have been Quail's 12th Gotcha Day with us. We had 11 1/2 years of loving our fluffy earred girl and she was with us throughout our Sanderling Journey. Quail came over from Dundalk in Ireland after being removed from her previous owners for her own safety. We adopted her on Good Friday through Lurcher SOS after the loss of our previous foundling lurcher, Grace. She was another dog that had had a terrible life and, whilst we tried all we could over the 3 1/3 years with us, she died of Mesothelioma in 2012. I wanted her life to matter and decided to give her space to another dog in need and Quail definatley made the most of that gift Grace bestowed on her.

We lost Quail last September due to Osteosarcoma and had just 10 days between diagnosis and having to let her go 💔. She loved the sea and the beach so today we are going to celebrate her Gotcha Day by letting other dogs and their humans make their own special memories by leaving a little gift down on South Beach.

Bootcamp Challenge Assault Course - 86ft of inflatable fun. Negotiate your way through obstacles, from squeezers to the tyre gauntlet challenge, swing across the inflatable ravine, climb through tunnels, up steps and down the slide!

Both these activities will be available on Sat 18 and Sun 19 May from 10am to 5pm and are FREE.

Today is international black dog day. People may not know but there are more black dogs in rescue than any other colour. .Alan on the left was my first black dog, an Overlooked Oldie from Castledon Greyhound Rescue is joined us when he was 10 years old. He had become somewhat neglected in his previous home that he had had since he broke his leg racing but soon blossomed here with us.

Rex on the right is a lurcher. We adopted from Hillbrae 5 years ago on January the 1st. He was aged about 6 and his history was unknown but somehow he found himself in the dog pound and even though he was chipped no one ever came for him. He again was overlooked just waiting for a family and sonewhere to call home..

We welcome dogs of all colours at Sanderling 😁
