This year we were delighted when Daisy Goodwin and Miranda Heller, bestselling authors, gave us impromptu masterclasses on their writing methods and the publishing industry.

So join award-winning writers Jason Goodwin and Jeremy Seal next year for another five days of private writing, mentoring and conversation.

We will be staying close to the Dorset coast, talking about different forms, fiction, non-fiction, memoir and travel writing, with daily sessions on the elements of writing, addressing questions of character, dialogue, plot, pace, setting and research.

After lunch each day there’ll be plenty of private writing time, through to tea and supper, with Jeremy and Jason in attendance. All meals are included in your stay.

We think that you will draw energy from the relatively informal mix of tutoring, guidance and peaceful writing time. As a beginner or an experienced writer, we want to inspire you, and fire your urge to work and create.

Mississippi Nobel Prize winning author William Faulkner’s wife and daughter signed him up to the Famous Writers School, as a joke. Founded by the man behind Random House, the School was a scam.
