Perhentian Islands are often forgotten when exploring Malaysia due to their location further east, but this is also the reason why they're so special because there are fewer visitors on the island. We believe Homestays are one of the best ways to truly connect with a culture. You can learn so much from your local host and share your own culture with them ✨

Vicky from our marketing team had the incredible opportunity to immerse herself in true Nepalese style by cooking a delicious local meal at her homestay, ran by our local partners Communityhomestaynetwork She was introduced to families from the local village in Nagarkot, away from the usual tourist spots. 🌄🍲

Her mornings started with a peaceful Hatha yoga class led by a local, followed by jungle hikes, breathtaking mountain views, visits to local temples and much more. These are experiences only possible when you travel local. 🧘‍♀️🏔️🌿

Sigiriya Rock itself is a lava plug left over from an ancient, long-extinct volcano!

Imagine climbing up a massive rock towering over the Sri Lankan jungle, feeling like you're on top of the world. But it's not just about the climb—Sigiriya's got history too, with ancient ruins perched at the summit telling stories of ancient kings and kingdoms.

We advise avoid going there at mid-day; it will be so hot you won't be able to enjoy it!

The heroes of the day !

We love getting out and doing what we can to protect our beaches. Down in Brighton, where we are based, we picked up many different types of rubbish! We are doing this while supporting Surfers Against Sewage. A charity built by a team of ocean lovers, who create campaigns and educational programs to build a community that cares deeply about our planet and the ocean, helping to make the world a better place. They are worth checking out!

Following from Race Across the World we watched the teams venture from Thailand into Malaysia.

First stop: Kuala Lumpur, the city has a never ending amount of sites to visit, from the famous Petronas Towers, to the bustling Chinese markets and historic temples.

Then there's Penang, where one team visited also known as George Town. If you're into art, this place is a must-visit. The streets are practically galleries themselves!

And don't forget Malacca! Most of the teams made it through there, it used to be one of the busiest trading ports in Southeast Asia? It's like walking through layers of cultures, from Portuguese to Dutch to Chinese influences.

What we love about Malaysia is how all these rich cultures blend together. It really is a hidden gem, with so much to offer!

Dive into Brazil with Gemma 🇧🇷 as she immerses herself in the crystal-clear waters of the Bonito River! Did you know? The Bonito River is famous for its astonishing clarity, thanks to the limestone bedrock that naturally filters the water. It's home to over 50 species of fish!

It wouldn't be a trip to Brazil without checking out the capital, Rio De Janeiro! One of Brazil's most iconic landmarks and a symbol of Rio de Janeiro's beautiful natural surroundings, Sugarloaf Mountain is a must-see attraction. To reach the mountain's peak, ride aboard the world's third-oldest cable car.

Next, on her journey, she parades the picturesque streets of Paraty, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its colonial architecture and cobblestone streets.
