Any Fallout fans out there who haven't got their hands on one of these beauties from Coney Island Saucery may be pleased to know that I do have a limited amount of this delicious medium-hot pineapple and habanero sauce in stock now. Apart from the fact that it's a very moreish sauce, Fallout fans will be delighted by the Glow-In-The-Dark Vault Boy label. Please note that stocks are limited, and please also note that I do not accept bottle caps.

The Hot Sauce Emporium is located within Bristol's historic St Nicholas Market, just behind the Nuka-World theme park. Image borrowed from Coney Island Saucery.

Public service announcement - we will be closed on Good Friday (tomorrow), as well as Easter Sunday and Monday. However, we WILL be open on Saturday 19th, and Grace from Taste Makossa will be visiting again with samples from her delicious (and now National Chilli Award-winning) range of freshly made Scotch Bonnet sauces. The samples will be available from about 11.30 am to 3.00 pm - if they last that long...

We have also just taken delivery of a fresh supply of the amazing EatMuti Mak-Kimchi, having sold out of the last batch in record time.

We've just had a delivery from Bristol's own EatMuti Matt, and are fully restocked on sauces, Kimchi, Kraut and Pickles. In amongst the goodies was a case of the brand new Ketchi - a mild, velvety and complex ketchup, made from Matt's signature Kimchi, which means it contains cabbage, chinese leaf, mooli, spring onions, leek, onion, pear and more - and it is entirely vinegar-free.

You can find this delicious and healthy sauce in our Chilli Ketchup section. The Hot Sauce Emporium itself is located within the Exchange Building on Corn Street, part of Bristol's historic St Nicholas Market.

Two very welcome new arrivals from Ontario in Canada are the Ginger Goat OG Original Goat and the Tropic Star hot sauces. Vibrant and fresh-tasting, these sauces are bold on both flavour and heat, and many of you may remember them from featuring previously on Hot Ones. There are some top quality sauces coming out of Canada right now, and Ginger Goat are up there with the best.

Both sauces are available from the Hot Sauce Emporium right now - we are located within the Exchange Hall in Bristol's historic St Nicholas Market. The mouthwatering images were kindly provided by Kris from Ginger Goat.

A quick heads-up that the popular and somewhat fiery Yoyo Laos Sauce Luang Prabang Special Hot Sauce is back in stock after a lengthy absence. For a Scotch Bonnet and Birds Eye chilli sauce, this one may surprise you, as it punches above it's weight in terms of the heat levels, but it has a lovely addictive fresh flavour to it. It was awarded a very respectable two stars by the Great Taste Awards, and, as you might expect, is great in asian dishes.

We also have another awesome product from Yoyo Laos in stock - the Great Taste coveted three star award winning Bolaven Salted Green Pepper. These seemingly humble peppercorns are a must-taste experience and are not widely available in the UK.

Both items (and other sauces from the Yoyo Laos range) are currently available in the Hot Sauce Emporium, located in Bristol's historic St Nicholas Market. All Yoyo Laos purchases include a donation towards the incredibly important and life-saving work of the MAG (Mines Advisory Group).

Intorducing Butter Bike Co. Peanut Butter - all-natural small batch peanut butters which taste fantastic (they certainly impressed the Great Taste Awards judges), and two of which just happen to be chilli-themed. We now have the Smoked Chilli Peanut Butter in stock, as well as the Limited Edition Hot Jalapeno Peanut Butter (which hopefully isn't too limited, as it's the most satisfying chilli peanut butter I've yet to taste). If you love your natural-style peanut butters as well as chillies, I cannot recommend these two enough.

Both varieties are now in stock at the Hot Sauce Emporium, located within Bristol's historic St Nicholas Market. Yummy images kindly provided by Jeni from Butter Bike...

Sweet-toothed heat-seekers are in for a treat this coming Saturday, as the Hot Sauce Emporium will be hosting Pete from Bristol's own Candy Chemistry UK for an Extreme Chilli Candy Floss taster session. Pete will be in the shop from late morning onwards, so if you've ever wondered what extremely hot candy floss might taste like, this will be the perfect opportunity to find out. There's good news too for anyone who gets burned - Pete will also have some cooling naturally-flavoured mint candy floss to hand, as well as other surprises.

This is all taking place on Saturday 8th March, and you can find the Hot Sauce Emporium within the Exchange Building on Corn Street - part of Bristol's historic St Nicholas Market.

Clockwork Lemon Hot Sauce is now back in stock, as is the Ginger Submarine. Many thanks to The Upton Cheyney Chilli Farm for cooking up the latest batch of these fine pair of sauces, which feature Lemon Drop and Submarine chillies respectively, and which are grown in a polytunnel in St. Annes, Bristol. The Clockwork lemon is the sweeter of the two, containing apricots, whereas the Ginger Submarine has a sharper, ginger-forward flavour profile. The Clockwork Lemon is medium to hot, whereas the Ginger Sub has a bit more of a kick, but it's probably not too eye-watering for most tastes. I can confirm that both sauces are better than a kick in the yarbles any day...

These two sauces are exclusive to the Hot Sauce Emporium, and can only be found in our shop in Bristol's historic St Nicholas Market.

New in this week, we have three bold new sauces from Green Belly Foods. Based on the co-owner Juan's mother's home-made Guatemalan recipes, all three sauces have a bold, vibrant, fresh flavour and are highly recommended. The Green Belly is a classic Verde sauce, but uses coriander, garlic and olive oil instead of tomatillos, the Yellow Belly combines mango, tamarind, cayenne and lime, and the Red Belly (which to me is an absolute classic) is made with tomatoes, garlic and the ancient Mayan chilli, the Cobanero, which lends the sauce an incredible depth of smokey rich flavour. These mouth-watering photos of the sauces were kindly supplied by Spencer from Green Belly.

There are very few (if any) places in the UK you will find these exceptional sauces - all the more reason to pay us a visit. The Hot Sauce Emporium is located in Bristol's historic St Nicholas Market, just off the City Centre.

I'm pleased to announce that we are now stocking Haynes Gourmet UK Green and Red Candied Jalapenos. This is about as good as it gets for candied Jalapenos, with each variety being awarded stars by the respected Great Taste Awards organisation and earning praise from some of the UK's top chefs, as well as a personal recommendation from Emporium regulars Bristol's own Clifton Chilli Club. Just take a look at these stunning photos for just a few ways to enhance your mains and snacks with these delicious chilli treats. I must confess at this point that the images were kindly provided by Jon from Haynes Gourmet, and are far above my usual level of competence!

The Hot Sauce Emporium is located in Bristol's historic St Nicholas Market.

Honey, I'm Home!!!

Yes, Spicin Foods Pain Is Good Louisiana is back in stock....for now.

For those who are not aware, the Hot Sauce Emporium is located in the Exchange Hall, part of Bristol's historic St Nicholas Market. We stock hundreds of sauces and other chilli-based items, including this ever-popular and recently rather evasive classic from the Pain Is Good range.

I don't mean to be a chilli bore, but I'm going to be a chilli bore. The first chilli plants have popped their tiny heads up today only four and a half days after sowing...and I'm officially excited.

These Lemon Drops will hopefully produce chillies to go into the next batch of Clockwork Lemon sauce later this year. The seeds are sourced from Sea Spring Seeds, and are available to purchase in the Hot Sauce Emporium, along with many other varieties, as well as a selection from South Devon Chilli Farm. There's still plenty of time left to get sowing this year, by the way.

Tomorrow I'll do a nice cat post.

Just a little news update for what's coming up...

Firstly, Grace from Taste Makossa will be visiting the Hot Sauce Emporium again tomorrow with a fresh supply of delicious Cameroonian-inspired chilli sauces. There will be samples available, and you can find us in Bristol's historic St Nicholas Market.

Secondly, there is a high probability that shop faves Marie Sharp's Fine Foods Ltd will be fully restocked next week. That includes the Smokin' Marie, Pure Love Pineapple, and quite possibly a brand new sauce. We have also just taken a fresh delivery of the amazing EatMuti sauces and Mak-Kimchi.

Lastly, and less welcomly, some of you may have noticed some more price increases recently. This is due to the continuing rising costs associated with chilli sauce production, from the growing and sourcing of chillies, to shipping costs and packaging. I strive to offer a high quality range of products, where the producers will not compromise on ingredients or techniques, or from paying staff decent wages, and I try to absorb additional costs, although this is only possible to a certain extent. Hopefully, my customers will and do appreciate this.

And lastly, for that skateboarding duck story feelgood finish, in case you were trying to make sense of the picture, it's what you get when you ask A.I. to produce an image of newspapers full of chilli-themed stories. That's it - I'm off now for a Sumpite Rangl.

Many thanks to Amrit (and Jenny, who I managed to miss!) from South Devon Chilli Farm for a great day dispensing samples and chilli-growing information alike to Emporium customers yesterday. I was impressed by how engaged and focused Amrit is on maintaining and building on the long and very successful legacy of the South Devon Chilli Farm, and it sounds like there will be plenty in the pipeline later this year to get excited about. Last year's big project was getting the whole farm to be 100% renewable energy powered, which is a pretty impressive achievement in itself. I'm looking forward to catching up again at this year's RHS Malvern Spring Show, and fingers crossed for another visit to the Hot Sauce Emporium before too long.

I'm hoping to host more sessions from other saucemakers during the year, and will of course publicise any such future visits. Next Saturday will see Grace from Taste Makossa back in the Emporium with more goodies to try...

Just a little reminder that Amrit, the owner of South Devon Chilli Farm, will be visiting the Hot Sauce Emporium tomorrow, and there's a good chance he will be in posession of some samples of the bold new Smoked Apple Chilli Jelly and the Limited Edition Ginger & Lime chilli chocolate. I think we all know just how good that SDCF chocolate tastes, so a visit is strongly recommended...

Amrit will be arriving at about 11.00am, but I can't tell you how long the samples will be around for. Find us in the Exchange Building on Corn Street - part of Bristol's historic St Nicholas Market.

I've run out of 'What's In The Box?' jokes, and anyway, you can see what's in there....

Yes, we have had a delivery from Spicin Foods, which means that, amongst other treats, the Buffalo Blue Cheese Wing Sauce and, everybody's love/hate sauce, Da Bomb Beyond Insanity, are back in stock. I'm still waiting on the Pain Is Good Louisiana, but hope springs eternal. I'm not clear whether regular service has been resumed, so if you have been waiting for any of these sauces in the picture to come back in stock, I'd suggest you grab a bottle sooner rather than later. The other thing I should perhaps mention is that if the threatened 20% tarriffs are introduced on US goods, this will also have an immediate effect on my ability to continue importing sauces from the States. Fingers crossed, eh?

Find all these goodies, and well over a hundred more quality chilli sauces, in the Hot Sauce Emporium, located within Bristol's historic St Nicholas Market.

After an inpromptu appearance in the Emporium this Saturday just gone, Grace will be back with fresh supplies and samples of her amazing freshly-made Taste Makossa sauces on the following two dates; Saturday 11th January and Saturday 25th January. This is a great opportunity to sample and purchase these amazing sauces which are currently only stocked in the Hot Sauce Emporium.

Also, on Saturday 18th January, I'm very pleased to report that Amrit from South Devon Chilli Farm will be in the shop, offering samples from the ever-popular brand. I have stocked South Devon Chilli Farm sauces, preserves and chocolate since taking over the Emporium in 2017, and am really looking forward to actually having the owner in the shop to provide samples and also perhaps some background information on how they grow and harvest their own chillies and produce their delicious products. Don't miss this one...

In case you don't know where all this will be happening, the Hot Sauce Emporium is located in the Exchange Hall, within Bristol's historic St Nicholas Market.
