Seoul has a story to tell: it boasts five grand palaces – the oldest and largest of which, Gyeongbokgung Palace, was built in 1395 at the cusp of the Joseon Dynasty; a rule that eventually constituted one of the longest in East Asian history – dissolving around 1897!

Named after the famed naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace, Wallace’s flying frog defies conventional expectations of amphibians by gliding through the air with its massive, webbed feet.

Endemic to Indonesia and typically found in the rainforests of Borneo, its feet act like parachutes, allowing it to soar up to 15 metres between trees in search of food, mates, or to evade predators.

Honouring Japan's history and enduring spirit on this National Foundation Day 🇯🇵 🗾 🎉

Japan's National Foundation Day is celebrated on 11 February to commemorate the mythological founding of Japan by Emperor Jimmu in 660 BCE, as recorded in the Nihon Shoki. It is a day of national pride across the country.

Japan is a country that should be on everyone's bucket list: soaring skyscrapers and electrified commerce contrast with ancient temples and cherry blossoms.

A few years ago, Odyssey World adopted a baby orangutan found stranded near the Agop Batu Tulug Caves in Malaysian Sabah.

Due to the location she was discovered, she was subsequently named Agop!

We’ve been keeping abreast of her development via regular updates from Orangutan Appeal UK, a foundation we’ve been supporting for many years, and yesterday we received yet another progress report.

It turns out, Agop has been making significant strides in her progress – she regularly climbs as high as 15 – 20 meters into the trees, she is developing a keen talent for nest building, and is thriving socially, having recently bonded with Napagang, a four-year-old male and the newest arrival at Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.

And recently, she spent an entire night out in the forest under the stars! Her carers kept watch, knowing it was a huge step for her, and in the morning they found her safe and sound – having slept through the night in the trees!

Undoubtedly one of the most visually stunning temples in Thailand, Wat Sirindhorn Wararam is often referred to as the ‘Glow Temple’ and is outfitted with a palette of luminescent hues which transform the site into a celestial masterpiece.

The contrasting motifs represent the elements – with one side exhibiting the amber, candle-lit warmth of fire and the opposite embellished with noctilucent (glowing) stones woven in intricate patterns and emanating a surreal blue hue to convey water.
