📍Tuckenhay

The quintessentially English hamlet of Tuckenhay is nestled in the South banks of Bow Creek, an estuary of the Harbourne River, flowing into the River Dart. A charming riverside village, it is well worth a visit and slightly off the main tourist map.

Located right on the The South West Coast Path means it's perfect for exploring on foot, giving you plenty of time to take in the views and the peaceful surroundings.

The calm river waters of Bow Creek make it ideal for swimming, paddleboarding, and kayaking. Although equipment hire isn't available, you can bring your own or hire from nearby Ditisham Boat Hire.

The is somewhere we highly recommend to guests, and is popular with both locals and visitors alike. It's riverside location, fireside tables and outside dining in the warmer months make it a must during your stay (the food and drink are equally as spectacular!)

📍Stoke Gabriel

A few miles upstream from us, nestled in a quiet creek on the River Dart, lies Stoke Gabriel, a quaint and historic village with winding streets and charming cottages lining the route alongside the river. The quay is a popular spot for families, where crabbing is the top activity. Equipment and bait can be obtained from , where you can also enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch, or dinner (or anything in between!)

Stoke Gabriel is also a fantastic place for paddleboarding, and kayak rentals are available from during the summer. The pontoon offers plenty of space, making it ideal for mooring your own sails. If you prefer to stay on land, there are numerous lovely walking paths to explore, whether along the shore to Duncannon Beach at low tide or through the woods towards Dittisham.
