Pedaling Past Barriers - Josie’s Cycling Story at Hereford Cycle Track

Meet Josie Harrison – a 40-year-old who, like so many, dreams of the freedom to cycle. Josie has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair, but that didn’t stop her from visiting our cycle track to see if there was a way she could experience cycling despite her disability.

With the help of our team, we found the perfect fit for Josie: our new Ice Trikes. Now, every Wednesday, rain or shine, Josie takes to the track, cycling for over 10km in just a couple of hours. It's not just about the exercise; it's about the joy of independence and the power of pushing past boundaries.

Josie joins us for our Cycle for All sessions:
9:30am - 1:30pm where our hub is staffed to support anyone looking to get involved.
And the best part? There’s no need to pre-book.

Our dedicated staff are on hand to assist with setting up the bikes and helping get you comfortable on them during staffed hours. If you do wish to book your session, you can do so here:

Halo are excited to present an opportunity for you to obtain an internationally recognised qualification in one of the most crucial and fulfilling roles in the leisure industry. The RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) not only equips you with life-saving skills but also serves as a pathway to a rewarding career in leisure.

The course encompasses a blend of physical training, theoretical classroom sessions, and practical assessments covering pool rescue techniques, first aid, CPR, and essential life saving skills.

🚨 Pool Test Prerequisites 🚨
Before starting the course, here’s what you’ll need to demonstrate during the pool test:
🔹 Be 16+ years old
🔹 Jump or dive into deep water
🔹 Swim 50m in under 60 seconds
🔹 Swim 100m continuously (front & back) in deep water
🔹 Tread water for 30 seconds
🔹 Perform a surface dive to the pool floor
🔹 Climb out unaided (where the pool design allows)
🔹 Course fee: £350 per person
