British Grand Prix dates are released!
Our 2022 guest review is below for those thinking about an exclusive F1 experience from Thursday 6th July checking out at a leisurely 1pm on Monday the 10th of July to allow you to experience everything the Silverstone F1 weekend offers!

As fate would have it we (6 ppl) had the privilege of staying in The Safari Lodge for our Silverstone weekend.

Location: This was 10 min away from the Silverstone track as a result getting to and from the track was made into such an enjoyable trip. (we did cheat a bit because our lovely host knew all the back roads to skip the traffic - Thanks Simon)

The rooms were clean and well laid out to our specification since we had a mixture of couples and singletons, the beds were comfortable, provided thick duvets and lead to a good night's sleep.

The Hot Tub was at 40 degrees and after a long day of walking the circuit in Silverstone believe me your feet and muscles will thank you for this, so make sure you soak in and relax while you take in the clean countryside air and let your eyes and mind wander off to a place of nothingness and absolute calm. (yes this place does that to you )

Now the hosts - Suzanne and Simon we can never thank you enough you made us feel so welcome and at home so much so I forgot i was paying for the place. going the extra mile to make sure we get everything we need from the shops, transport to and from the track, making sure we are comfortable and sharing as much as you did. P.S we are coming back for those cherries from your tree they were delicious.

I highly recommend Walter's retreat / The Safari Lodge as both an amazing accommodation for Silverstone and equally an amazing retreat for you to experience the pure tranquillity it provides (i know I will be booking soon with my own family).

The service we received was unmatched and worth way more than what we paid for.

It's a big weekend for us here. Today Silverstone circuit is hosting the F1 British Grand Prix and it's a sell out crowd of over 140,000 people. It's been lovely to offer our Grand Prix guests not only the close proximity of the race track but the tranquil setting of Walter's Retreat to come back to after an exciting day of motor sport.

Prep work underway at Walter’s Retreat this weekend ready for 2022 equestrian holidays 🏕 🐎 🥂
We’re changing the old cattle fencing to horse-friendly fencing this weekend 🥰
Guests can enjoy a glass of fizz in the hot tub and watch their pony graze after a fun day exploring the wonderful bridleways of Stowe and playing with the xc jumps in the paddock.

The summer holidays are going so fast!

We have so enjoyed hearing about the fun our guests have had over the last few weeks - the hot tub, trampoline and tree swing being particular highlights 🥰

We have one remaining summer holiday weekend available - 3 nights from Friday 20th August (£1600).

The lodge and bell tents sleep up to 10. double room, twin room and kingsize cabin bed in the lodge complemented by 2 bell tents - 1 double and 1 twin.

20% discount is available for smaller bookings of up to 6 people.

Due to a cancellation we also have a last minute mid-week break 3 nights from Monday 16th August (£1200)

We will have a short break from bookings to install the wood burner ready for autumn guests 🏕

Seeing the children running around, playing on the trampoline and in the hot tub enjoying tech-free time in 2 acres while the parents chill makes our hearts sing at Walter’s Retreat.

There was even excitement about the Harry Potter DVD’s on our tv/dvd player 🤣🥰

It was fantastic to hear how much the two families enjoyed their stay and how the hot tub, trampoline and outdoor space was so great for the children - they voluntarily had an evening away from tech to play in the hot tub. Even the rain didn’t spoil the fun 🙌👏

“I can only praise this beautifully appointed and generously equipped safari lodge. Located in a private field on a farm near to Stowe and the Silverstone Race Circuit, it sleeps very comfortably up to ten people, and was the perfect accommodation for our company sales team to stay, while working at the British Grand Prix this year.

Bedding and linen are of the finest quality, the rainforest shower is spacious and powerful, and the farm produce provided was top notch!

The outside kitchen made it easy to cook and the hot tub provided a tranquil soak for tired limbs after a long hot day at the circuit.

Most of all it was the attentive care provided by the host which really made our stay so pleasant. The owner, Suzanne, could not do enough for us, she totally understood my predicament, after having been commissioned with booking accommodation for the team only three weeks out from the event. Of course, there was nothing left and then I spotted this little gem.

At that time the lodge was in the final stages of being completed, but Suzanne assured me it would be ready in time, which it was. But the amazing thing was how much Suzanne did, to make the lodge a luxury experience for us. Very concerned that my team wouldn’t need to sleep on mattresses on the floor, she bought additional bed frames for the bell tent and then bought an additional bell tent, so we had more space! She was very much aware that my guys were used to staying in hotels and not glamping in a field!

The fridge was fully stocked with all the essentials, milk, juice, eggs, bacon, sausages and so much more. The beds were super comfy, phone reception was good and parking plentiful.

This really put the “glam” into glamping for me and I would highly recommend Walters Retreat for corporate teams as well as families, the perfect place for a bit of team bonding.

All in all, it was a resounding success, everyone enjoyed themselves and I have to say, that there is much to be said for not having any neighbours, as the team could be as loud and they liked in the evening whilst mulling over the events of the day, over a glass of wine!
