Hang any clean used or unwanted adult and children coats or jackets in The Barrel’s yard next Wednesday between 7am to 3pm. Please come anytime between 8am and 4pm to take anything of the rail that you or your family need to keep warm this winter. Any coats remaining will be donated to local charity shops. Please repost so people have plenty to choose from. 🎅

October half term is a great time to visit Bude! The weather is still mild, the crowds have thinned out, and there are plenty of activities and events to keep the whole family entertained.

Here are a few ideas for things to do in Bude in October half term:

- Explore the coast. Bude has stunning coastline with the world famous 'Bude fold', with plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling. You can also go rockpooling, fishing, or surfing.
- Visit the beach. Bude's beaches are perfect for swimming, building sandcastles, and playing beach games.
- Surf. With fewer people in the sea than summer and often bigger waves, October can be an amazing time to surf. Never surfed before...take a lesson...you'll be up and riding in no time.
- Go for a walk along the Bude Canal. The Bude Canal is a beautiful and tranquil spot, perfect for a leisurely stroll. Reward yourself with lunch or cake at the Weir. Canalside, Bude is right on the Canal path!
- Swim in the Sea Pool. Completely free and refreshed by the sea twice a day, swim securely out in the open. Water temperature in October is the same as June!
- Visit the Bude Castle Heritage Centre. The Bude Castle Heritage Centre tells the story of Bude's history, from its Iron Age origins to its Victorian heyday.
- Go to the cinema. Bude has a cinema that shows the latest films.
- Go to a soft play centre or Bowl The venue in Bude has both!
- Visit the Bude Skatepark. The Bude Skatepark is a great place for skateboarders, scooter riders, of all ages.
- Indulge in afternoon tea. With many in Bude, or the amazing Rectory Farm Tea Rooms about 15 miles north, spoil yourself with a delicious afternoon tea.
- Go to a restaurant or cafe. Bude has a wide range of restaurants and cafes to choose from, so you're sure to find something to your taste
- Halloween activities at the Milky Way Adventure park. A short drive from Bude, the Milky Way has a week long set of Halloween filled activities.

A new 87-mile walking trail has opened in Cornwall, linking the north and south coasts of the county. The Tamara Coast to Coast Way follows the River Tamar, taking in a variety of landscapes, from wooded valleys to rolling farmland to heather-covered moors.

The route was created with the aim of encouraging people to explore the inland areas of Cornwall, which are often overlooked by tourists.

Tamara Coast to Coast walking path, is a fantastic new 87mile path linking Bude to the south coast, broadly tracking the river Tamar. Suitable for both walkers and runners.

The Barrel, a great micropub in the heart of Bude selling Cornish beers straight from the Barrel, as well as local spirits has extended its opening hours for the summer. It's now open Wed-Sat 4-9pm and Sunday 1-4pm.

The amazing beaches in and around Bude have been awarded a mix of the sought after Blue Flag and Seaside Awards. These are awarded to well managed beaches with excellent water quality.

Just eight beaches in Cornwall have been awarded Blue Flag status and Bude has two! Similarly 15 beaches in Cornwall have been awarded the Seaside Awards with three of them in Bude.

With the number of electric vehicles on the road ever increasing, it's important to know that you are able to charge your EV whilst on holiday.

Here at Canalside, we have a private electric 7kw charging point right outside the apartment and only usable by the Canalside apartments.

In addition to this, just 3 minutes walk away in Crescent Car park there are two 50kW charges, and 5 minutes walk away in the Parkhouse centre with two 22kW chargers.
