Today Sunday 1 September marks the end of peak season for RNLI Lifeguards in the South West with certain beaches no longer being patrolled in 2024.

⚠️from Monday 2 September onwards ⚠️

🟥🟨 The beaches in our area on which lifeguard patrols will continue are 🟥🟨

• Crooklets
• Summerleaze
• Widemouth
• Blackrock

Even though peak season is coming to an end the weather is set to be good and we would like to remind the public of the RNLI’s advice to head to a lifeguarded beach.

If in trouble remember to float to live, lie on your back with your ears submerged.

We're thrilled to be hosting the incredible o-region for their From the Horse’s Mouth Project as part of our Theatre Day on
26th June.

Renowned Cornish production company o-region are interested in meeting and chatting to people to get a sense of the benefits, challenges, qualities and quirks of modern life in the local area of Poundstock/Bude and surrounding areas.

On Wednesday 26 th June a team from o-region consisting of director Simon Harvey, writers Anna Maria Murphy, local writer Sarah Dickenson and local emerging writers Lea Judge and Poppy Wonnacott will be at the Gildhouse as part of their From the Horse’s Mouth project to chat to the local community about ‘sense of place’ and ‘home’.

Knowledge gleaned from these relaxed interactions will form the basis for original stories and script work which will be performed in the area in Autumn of this year and will also inform the script development of o-region’s newest large-scale theatre show WHITE HORSE in 2025.

When hitting the surf always use lifeguarded beaches and the flagged areas.

Camping near Bude, North Cornwall

We are a family run campsite on the beautiful North Cornwall coastline, just a few miles from the ever popular family holiday town of Bude.

We have a warm welcome waiting for you and offer a choice of accommodation on site. Bring your own tent or caravan to pitch up, or book one of our static caravans or holiday apartments. However you prefer to holiday, you will enjoy the stunning views over the North Cornwall coast and out to Lundy Island.

Onsite we have our own farmshop, cafe and takeaway service and children’s play park. We are a small site with 66 pitches and welcome your well behaved canine companions. All pitches are just a short walk from the communal toilet and shower blocks.

Our site is located perfectly for your holiday exploring the North Cornwall coastline, with easy access along the A39 to Bude, Widemouth Bay, Port Isaac, Tintagel, Boscastle and Padstow.
