The fantastic, refurbished swimming pool is now open! :-)

Together with the lovely, new, bar facilities; gym and of course, Belly Rumbles (the onsite burger van). The village is going to be transformed this year.

We are a member of CADISCA, the Cornwall & Devon Independent Self-Caterers Association, a collective of owners of self-catering accommodation in Cornwall and Devon.

We are strong advocates of the Safe & Legal registration scheme for self-catering properties. It became law, last October, to have a competent fire-risk assessment and to have a minimum standard of fire detection (mains powered and interlinked in each room); thumb locks on emergency exit doors; solid internal doors; emergency lighting etc etc, yet we still see so many holiday properties trading illegally without these in place.

Next time you book a holiday cottage, ask if the property fully complies with the new regulations. If not, it will be trading illegally and will be uninsured!

We're all ready to take bookings for the new season now after a busy winter of projects. Most importantly ensuring we are compliant with all the new fire safety regulations that came into force at the end of last year.

These required a full installation of mains-powered and interlinked, smoke and heat detectors; solid internal doors to give 30-minutes fire protection; emergency lighting; thumb-turn lock on the exit door; a fire safety notice and of course a full, written risk assessment! (So when you book your next holiday cottage - make sure all this is in place or they will be trading illegally!!)

We've also installed some hi-tech programmable radiators in all the rooms for additional comfort and convenience, and we have removed the old coin-meter which was definitely a hindrance! In the lounge, we have now got some lovely, lined curtains in addition to the blinds, which makes things much cosier in the evening.

In the double bedroom, we have a bit of a changearound, which gives a bit more space and there are now blackout blinds in both bedrooms to help you sleep on when the Cornish sun beams in in the morning!

On-site, the swimming pool refurbishment is in full swing so we are hopeful that this will be available to use in the not-so-distant future.

We're looking forward to another busy season so make sure you book early to ensure you get the week you're after!

With the summer school holidays approaching, how about booking your holiday close to this fabulous, Blue Flag beach? There's rock pooling; surfing; lifeguard-patrolled bathing; amazing coastal walks and some great pubs all close by. Not to mention the on-site bar and restaurant!! h and dogs are permitted on our nearest beach too. Lifelong memories will be made here! :-)
