Situated on the outskirts of the Georgian village within a short walk of the village green, our cottage has a cosy sitting room with a wood burning stove and a traditional kitchen with pamment tile floor. Taking you upstairs is a Norfolk winder staircase (a little steep) which leads to a sumptuous bedroom with a king-sized bed and a luxurious bathroom. Outside there is a pretty gravelled private c
ourtyard garden just across the shingle path from the back door. There is also a pleasant seating area outside the kitchen to enjoy the morning sun over breakfast. Whilst there is no designated off-street parking guests usually park a few metres away in the road opposite.
We’ve been sampling some new things in Wells Next The Sea today. We had fun doing a 45k circular on e-bikes from Cockle Bay ebike Hire and then had a well deserved pizza at Flour https://www.flourwells.com.
We managed to dodge the weather too!
We had a delightful time today grinding wheat and making our own bread. Whilst it was in the oven we took in the views from the top of the windmill. Definitely worth a visit!

We thoroughly enjoyed investigating local eateries on behalf of our guests (ahem..) Top marks for The Jolly Sailors, Brancaster Staithe their rum board, pizza and accompaniments. Sunday lunch at the The Duck Inn, Stanhoenever fails to impress!
We’ve kick started 2024 with a delectable weekend at A Little Slice of Norfolk. After a Saturday afternoon in front of the cottage fire we spoiled ourselves with Sunday lunch at The Hero, Burnham Overy Staithe. Delicious food and perfect pub atmosphere!
We’ve been back on the trail for the best Sunday roast in North Norfolk and we may have found it on visit 1 at the Red Lion, Stiffkey. Perfectly cooked roast beef with delicious accompaniments in delightful surroundings. Amazing and just a few miles down the road from A Little Slice of Norfolk
