Burnham Sailing Club

Burnham Sailing Club Welcome to our vibrant club! Join us for junior training, mid-week races for cruisers, classic one-designs, Squibs, RS Elites, and more!

Also, don't overlook our kayak group excursions. Off water there is an exciting social scene you won't want to miss! Situated on the seawall at the western end of Burnham just before the house boats. The club enjoys a private car park and dinghy park. Renowned for its Wednesday evening racing programme which attracts boats from all clubs on the river. We continue to be an affordable, friendly fami

ly club with an active sailing programme. New members can join with various categories of membership available. Friday evenings is our junior training night with some lively coaching and fun on the water. It is also an opportunity for non-sailors and parents to socialize on the sea wall and deck which always proves to be a great start to the weekend when additional sailing takes place. If you are new to the area, join us on a Wednesday or Friday evening during the season where members and Flag officers will be available to welcome you. You can also phone or write to our membership secretary who will be happy to send application forms and further details.

On Sunday, 9th February, we will be holding a Boat Jumble sale on the Upper Deck and also on the Hythe. The sale will open at 10AM and finish at 3PM.

This is for Nautical Items Only, so if you have a garage or shed over-flowing with sailing gear you no longer need, or are in the process of renovating your beloved craft, this is your opportunity to clear some space, or find a deal (or both!).

Stallholders pay £10 per table (on upper deck, or on the Hythe); visitors pay nothing. There will be hot drinks and snacks from the galley, and the bar will be open as usual from midday.

To book a table, please reply to this email, or call the clubhouse on 01621 854 139.

A message from Karen Sadler
"I am thrilled to share the fantastic news from our recent Wine & Cheese event! Thanks to your incredible generosity and enthusiastic participation, we raised an amazing £1484.15 for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young)!
From the delicious cheeses and fine wines to the fun of the raffle, it was a great night! Your support will truly help the charity to continue to support young people diagnosed with potentially life threatening cardiac conditions and further develop their heart screening programmes.
Thank you to everyone involved especially Nick Plank for supplying the cheese and everyone who joined us – we couldn't have done it without you!" ❤️

🌺 Remembrance Sunday on the River Crouch 🌺

Cruisers gathered on the river opposite the Burnham on Crouch war memorial to pay their respects for Remembrance Sunday. The town came together to observe the 2-minute silence, reflecting on the bravery and sacrifices made by our armed forces.

Following this the yachts made their way to the Burnham Sailing Club start line for the Peter Cashel Memorial Trophy. This trophy honours Peter Cashel, a former Commodore of Crouch Yacht Club, who received a citation for his bravery during the D-Day landings. Although the wind had threatened to be very light, but it held long enough for a great race.

👋Hello everyone!

I'm thrilled to introduce The Commodore's Better Halves Charity Fundraiser.

This year, we're supporting CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young, a charity close to my heart that aims to improve screening and support for young people.

Join us at the BSC for a great wine tasting event hosted by Justin Waples. 🍷

Your ticket includes tastings of three white wines, three red wines, and a blind tasting, followed by a delicious cheese platter. 🧀
Justin will donate 10% of wine sales/order that night to CRY!

Bring some £1 coins for a fun game and extra cash for the raffle, and together we can raise awareness and funds for this important cause!

Looking forward to seeing you!
