Turtle Tots Newcastle, Gateshead & Northumberland Turtle Tots is a unique and innovative award winning baby & toddler swimming programme.

Our unique and fun Turtle Tots Swimming lessons are available for you and your child from birth to 4 years. During our progressive lessons you will learn how to swim with your baby in a fun, relaxed, interactive environment using songs and toys, we will also teach your baby key life saving skills while building their water confidence. Each class is a special bonding experience for mums or dads and

their babies while also being a fantastic workout as each class has been designed and endorsed by Professor Greg Whyte OBE, Olympian and sport scientist. All teachers are fully qualified with the STA (Swimming Teachers Association)

A reminder about our Nappy Policy - and some helpful info! 💚

To keep pools safe and clean and avoid them closing pools due to 'little accidents' 💩, at Turtle Tots we insist on the double nappy system for all children who aren't fully potty trained.

That means a disposable or reusable swim nappy plus a neoprene nappy on top (we recommend the Happy Nappy) 🩲

Alternatively, The Happy Nappy Duo is an all-in-one double nappy system and there’s no need for a swim nappy underneath it, helping the environment and making life easier! 🌎♻

💚 The waist band should sit snugly against your baby's waist, with the leg cuffs secure against the leg without gaping, but without cutting in - you should be able to fit your finger in at the leg opening too, but only just!
You should be able to pull Jammers,(all the assurance of a Happy Nappy in a more grown up and sporty design) comfortably up little one's tummy!

🩲 No under nappy should be visible once the Happy Nappy is on. This is really important - if the under nappy is showing above the happy nappy then it won't work!

💚 No red marks should be left by the Happy Nappy on your little one's skin.

👀 Your teacher will be happy to check, if you're unsure on sizing.

Please check your 'junk' if you can't see it in your inbox, as that's where they sometimes end up 🙈
It contains lots of handy information - what to expect in class, pool information, about changing rooms, lockers, parking, swimwear and our nappy policy, and pool updates... so well worth sitting down with a cuppa for a quick read! ☕💚

Your baby is not a biscuit, so we don't dunk them! 🍪 Let's spill the tea on submersions! ☕ At Turtle Tots, we strongly believe submersions should be a choice, not something done to your child. Babies will swim underwater when they're ready to ( (and this can change from week to week!). With our gentle approach, children learn to love swimming, build trust with their carer and teacher, and enjoy the water more 💚 Forcing submersion when they're not ready can cause distress or even long-term fear of water 😞 That's why we follow STA best practices, ensuring submersions are a result of communication between baby, parent, and teacher in a structured lesson. While methods have evolved with more research, we're proud to be up to date! 🙌 Our teachers are trained to the highest industry standards - you'll won't see us dunk a child like a biscuit! 🍪 We’re here to teach you how to communicate with your little one, so you can enjoy submersions together 💚
