Children's Choice Therapy Service

Children's Choice Therapy Service Independent Occupational Therapy for children. Educational, Health contracts and working on individual requests. Founded Nov 2010.

Children's Occupational Therapy
Assessment, Treatment and Training

With nearly 20 years experience as an Occupational Therapist within the NHS, both in clinical and managerial work, and the last 10 of those within Children’s services (including establishing and providing services within children’s centres) I have seen the impacts that can be made on children’s and family’s lives. Physical, perce

ptual and sensory difficulties can prevent children from participating in daily living tasks (eg dressing, feeding etc.), playing with peers, interacting in classroom or other activities (including pencil and scissor skills), as well as impede self esteem, and can affect the whole family. Although the NHS provides excellent Children’s services locally, they remain under great pressure leading to gaps in service, and often waiting lists.

‘Children’s Choice Therapy Service’ aims to offer to children, parents and other services the choice and availability of Children’s Occupational Therapy Services within the independent sector, to compliment NHS and educational services, or to meet needs not currently provided. Assessments can be carried out at home, school, or within chosen environments. Treatments may be provided individually or within a group if available. As an Occupational Therapist I am Health Professions Council Registered, and have Sensory Integration accreditation.
