Hendersyde on Tweed has some early spring dates throughout February & March, as well as some late June fishing available. On the North Esk, Kinnaber has also added fishing for February & March; if you bump into a springer on here, it will be fresh as paint as the beat provides the first obstacles & resting spots for fresh fish entering the river. Further north on the Dee, Waterside & Ferrar have added availability. The season starts above Aboyne bridge on the 1st March, availability is online from March through June. This is a lovely mid river beat, double banked & can accommodate up to 4 rods during spring. On the Tyne, Styford has limited availability, offering Saturday & Sunday rods throughout February & March. And finally, Dumfries & Galloway Angling Assoc. have added grayling tickets for the winter months.

🎣 Ready to cast your line into the legendary waters of the River Tay? 🌊🐟
https://vimeo.com/639985576

Here's why the River Tay should be your top fishing destination for 2024:

1️⃣ Known globally for its Atlantic Salmon, the Tay is a jewel among Scottish rivers.
2️⃣ Venture beyond the main river to discover serene tributaries, each a premier salmon fishery.
3️⃣ The heart-stopping beauty of Perthshire unfolds around you with vast highland lochs, secluded hill lochs, and tranquil reservoirs – a true angler's paradise.

In Scotland, salmon fishing rights belong to various private owners, and getting access to these prime spots is essential. That's where FishPal steps in, offering a hassle-free 'one stop shop' to secure your fishing permits from these private stretches.

Glencassley has added availability for the early part of the season (rods for July through to the end of September will also be added in the next week or so). The Glencassley beat has approx. 5 miles of double banked fishing, on the river Cassley – a classic Highland spate river. Catch it in the right conditions, and you should have a pretty memorable trip! The Lochy has rods available for 3 day / full week lets throughout the season. Again, a great destination being situated near Fort William on the west coast of Scotland. A little further south, Inverawe has also added rods. On the river Dee, Aboyne Water has added spring availability, and some limited space in October; it has several excellent holding pools on the beat and is well placed on the middle river. And finally, Upper & Lower Kinnaird (river Tay) has added availability for throughout the season. The river Tummel meets the Tay on the lower beat, which can make for some great fishing when the spring run enters the river.

Salmon fishing on the Annan concluded on Wednesday the 15th, and thoughts now turn to grayling fishing. The Castle Milk beats have added grayling fishing on to the website, their beats include Brocklerigg, St Mungo’s Parish, Royal Four Towns & Shilla Hill. There is also a grayling day taking place on Sunday 3rd December, organised by Michael Fearns of the Annan Fishery Board ( https://www.fishpal.com/Scotland/Annan/RiverAnnanEvents/ ).

On the Eden, Kirkby Stephen District AA & Appleby AA both have grayling permits available, and Eden Lacy has now added their salmon & brown rods for the season.

On the river Spey, Orton have added some early spring availability – a lovely 6 rod beat situated between Fochabers & Rothes. On the Dee, Kincardine have added rods for the full season, a great beat for 2 rods with some excellent fly water. There is also some limited availability on Upper Blackhall. And finally, Ninewells on the Whiteadder (Tweed system) has rods available throughout spring - they had some superb springers last season on single handers & switch rods.
