🎣 Countdown to the 2025 Season!
We’re just 24 hours away from the new season on the Helmsdale and only 5 days until the iconic River Tay opens its doors to anglers! 🌊

Spring fishing is here, and while finding that early sea-liced springer can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack, the rewards are mind-blowing when you hook into one. 💥 The Tay, with its legendary status, offers a real chance of success—there’s no better place to kick off your season in January!

While you're on the hunt, remember that Kelts (last year’s salmon stock) are vital to the ecosystem. Handle them with care, ensure a swift release, and give them the best chance to return to sea strong.

Where will you cast your line this spring? Explore some prime early-season beats on the River Tay:

🎣 Scotland’s 2024 Fishing Season: A Year to Reflect On 🐟
As 2024 comes to a close, we're waiting on the annual reports from around the country to share with you. Here’s a quick look at the year's fishing from us:

The year brought a mix of highs and challenges. Many rivers saw promising early runs, with some excellent catches reported, while others faced varying water levels and unpredictable conditions early on, then all of a sudden the fish turned up in style. Notably, strong summer runs offered anglers exciting opportunities and hope for future seasons. It must be said though, the return of some excellent numbers in many rivers was just what we needed after a good few years of tough fishing.

While some rivers experienced continued declines in sea trout numbers, encouraging catches on select systems reminded us of their resilience. The need for conservation efforts to protect these iconic fish remains more important than ever.

Despite challenges like fluctuating weather and environmental concerns, the passion and dedication of Scotland’s angling community shone through, and here we are gearing up for 2025 already!

Conservation remains key, and catch-and-release efforts are helping preserve these incredible fish for future generations.
