C H I C K E N. M A T H S // Did you know we have 5 chickens on site? Fun facts about FARM FRESH EGGS (left in our welcome hamper) & CHICKENS🐣

🐔 Eggs are laid with a protective layer called “bloom” that seals the pores on the egg to keep bacteria from entering.

🥚 Unwashed eggs can stay on the counter for several weeks.

🧊 Washed eggs must be refrigerated and last up to two months.

🐓 Store your eggs upside down to help keep the fresh (pointy side down).

🐥 Chickens are omnivores. They love bugs, frogs, snakes, mice and other small creatures along with all kinds of vegetation.

🥔 Chickens shouldn’t have potato skins.

🐣 Farm eggs have 1/3 less cholesterol,1/4 less saturated fat, 2/3 more vitamin A, Two times more omega-3 fatty acids and three times more vitamin E than store bought eggs.

🐤 You can tell if the egg is fertilized by there being a white “bullseye” on the yolk.

🥚 One egg can have as many as 17,000 pores on the shell.

🐔 The breed of the chicken will determine the color of the egg. We have 4 different breeds and colours here!

🍳 The yolks contain vitamin D.

A N N O U N C E M E N T 🌟 This year at The Honeypot, we're continuing our fundraising initiative by renting out our warm outdoor pool with surrounding hosting space (in between holiday let guests) for a minimum donation to our local primary school just 3 doors down! 🏊‍♂️ Help us surpass last year's success and continue to support our local community. F U N. O N. T H E. F A R M // There is so much to do for families in our area we are spoilt for choice! Yesterday we ventured off the ranch to visit a wonderful farm at where we cuddled guinea pigs, chatted to the alpacas and enjoyed a peacock showing his mighty feathers! We are just a short drive away from here… if you can tear the kids away from our own backyard! Some half term availability and plenty of off peak availability for this winter still left.
