This great walk takes you out of the quaint village of Castleton, up Cave Dale and then over the Great Ridge. It offers such varied and spectacular scenery.

Longnor Wood Holiday Park is a small select four star park “just for adults” (18+). We cover over 10 acres incorporating a 4 acre dog walk / recreation field with stunning views. We are located in the heart of the Peak District National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty, with unspoilt, dramatic rolling countryside and charming villages. Surrounded by woodland and farmland, we provide the
perfect base for exploring the unique and beautiful Peak District. The picturesque village of Longnor is approximately 1¼ miles away, offering a pub, general store, café, post office and chip shop. The cobbled square is the starting point for many lovely walks. The park is a family owned site and is open from 1st March – 10th January, offering the ideal location for your holiday whether you want to just sit and read and watch the plentiful animal life or whether you want to walk, cycle or explore the numerous villages, markets and stately homes that can be found in the locality. We are members of the Tranquil Touring Park Group and are committed to providing you with a memorable holiday in a haven of peace and tranquillity. Currently we have 13 lodges with hot tubs, 6 static caravans also with hot tubs, 2 pods, hardstanding touring pitches as well as tent pitches.

Great pizza, fantastic view, you can't beat it. Come and see us in the reception tomorrow to order yours.
Another great walk that gives you fantastic views, but also potentially the chance to see the wonderful herd of Highland cattle on Baslow Edge.

Back due to some demand, we have magnets for sale in our shop featuring some of our favourite Peak District locations.
This is a throw back to a few years ago, when I was incredibly lucky to see these amazing stags wondering about in the heather. What is your favourite animal you've seen whilst you have been exploring the Peak District?
The roaches are a great place for a walk, so instead of giving you a link to a walk, here is the option of 5.

If you are looking for something a bit different to do, Longnor Races is next week.
We hope that everyone has had a fun Bank Holiday weekend.
A rare moment of quiet in Bakewell. It is such a popular spot with visitors, it is rare that these benches aren't full of people feeding the birds and fish. Have you visited Bakewell?
This walk features an Iron Age fort and a backdrop from the 1987 film The Princess Bride. If that is not of interest to you, you can just enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Fancy a large slice of nostalgia? A visit to the Crich Tramway Village is like stepping back in time. Ride the trams, have a drink at the pub or buy some thing from the traditional sweet shop; it makes for a great day out.

Ever fancy channelling your inner Elizabeth Bennet? This scene from the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice was shot at Stanage Edge just outside of Hathersage.

This is a great walk that has a real mix of beautiful countryside and history. Great all year round, but the heather adds another layer.

Our 4 acre dog walk is obviously a great place for a stroll, but when it is hot out, we are lucky to be surrounded by woods. Although they don't belong to us, there is a public right of way. It is a great place for your dog to be in the shade, leap over logs or just find a good stick.
We have had the lounge, kitchen and bathroom refurbished in the Beech, and we are really happy with the result.
Today is International Beer Day, it is a celebration of all the ales, lagers and pilsners out there. It is also a thank you to the brewers, bar staff and landlords that work hard to give us a nice cold drink. We are lucky to have some fantastic pubs in the Peak District like the where this picture was taken.
We are now in August, traditionally the best month for seeing heather in the Peak District. This short walk takes you up to one of the best spots.

The dog walk always looks better once it has been mown......
Stanage Edge is a gritstone escarpment near the pretty village of Hathersage. It is very popular with climbers, but if you don't fancy scaling these cliffs, you can do this walk instead.

I’m going to say this very quietly, but is it feeling like Summer may have finally started to anyone else?!

I took this video earlier in the month. I have never known the snow come so fast and then leave so quickly as it did that day. #snow #winterwonderland #lodge #holidaypark #staycation
When it's wet, wander towards waterfalls. As much as having sunny days and blue skies is wonderful, we wouldn't have the lush green country we have without the rain. On the days when it is a bit wet, I like to head towards water, and in particular waterfalls. After a heavy down pour the speed and the noise they create are so impressive to me.

Is it me, or does this Blue Tit seem like someone looking in the fridge for the last bit of left over cheese from Christmas?!
The concession path from Wetton has recently re-opened after some surface work being completed, so it is a nice easy walk to take in these views of Thor’s Cave again.
A Bank Holiday Monday evening is the perfect time to relax and enjoy the view of the sea of heather on Derwent Edge.
Our Warden Wendy caught this squirrel having a bite to eat just outside her caravan.
Ever wanted to watch the sunrise on the Dragon’s Back, but didn’t want to get up early?! Well now you can.
Have you visited Lumsdale Valley yet? It's just a short walk from Matlock, Derbyshire and a 40 minute drive from our site. Expect beautiful scenery and wonderful waterfall backdrops 🏞️
