It is amazing what you see just driving about in the Peak District….
I took this video earlier in the month. I have never known the snow come so fast and then leave so quickly as it did that day.

When it's wet, wander towards waterfalls.
As much as having sunny days and blue skies is wonderful, we wouldn't have the lush green country we have without the rain. On the days when it is a bit wet, I like to head towards water, and in particular waterfalls. After a heavy down pour the speed and the noise they create are so impressive to me.
When you book another stay at Longnor Wood and you're really excited about it...............

Thor’s Cave
The concession path from Wetton has recently re-opened after some surface work being completed, so it is a nice easy walk to take in these views of Thor’s Cave again.
Heather on Derwent Edge.
A Bank Holiday Monday evening is the perfect time to relax and enjoy the view of the sea of heather on Derwent Edge.
Squirrel Eating
Our Warden Wendy caught this squirrel having a bite to eat just outside her caravan.
Ever wanted to watch the sunrise on the Dragon’s Back, but didn’t want to get up early?! Well now you can.
Have you visited Lumsdale Valley yet? It's just a short walk from Matlock, Derbyshire and a 40 minute drive from our site.

The Derwent Dam is really something to behold when it is in full flow!
This was taken by one of the ladies that works for us, Cindy. She was keen to share it as she captured the elusive woodpecker, but also that she managed to actually get the video on her phone to work! Happy Friday everyone.
