We would like to wish all our guests, past, present and in the future, a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year 2025! We will be closing for a brief period in January but have plenty of availability throughout the year if you fancy a return visit!

It is a while since I last posted and we have been busy with visitors the past few weeks but this is an opportunity that should not be missed! It is the annual decoration of the wells in St John’s Church, Buxton and my first time getting involved! It is worth a visit to see the process or even give it a go! The Well Dressing festival is from 5th - 14th July

This year, I have removed the wallpaper and painted a feature wall in the king room with cabin bunk beds! Sage green may not be everybody’s choice but it is a very relaxing colour and blends well with the red and poppy duvet cover. I hope you like it! We have plenty of availability for weekends in March if you have an occasion or fancy a group getaway

Yet another lovely morning in Buxton. These pictures are taken of the eco area just around the corner from Wellwood Lodge. There is still quite a lot of snow in the garden but pathway cleared and guests have arrived for their stay.

Beautiful snowy day in Buxton today. Getting in and out of the town has been quite tricky due to drifting snow but conditions are slowly improving so hopefully our guests can make it here tomorrow

After discovering a broken handle on Monday, realising it was irreparable and not being able to find a modern chest of a similar size and structure, I decided to update this 1970s piece of furniture in our twin bedroom. 3 coats of Annie Sloan Chalk paint, a coating of wax and some new handles and finished just in time for this weekend’s visitors. What a transformation!

This year’s Buxton Well Dressings are looking fabulous! The one by the well near the Crescent is celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and the one on the market place is commemorating the discovery of Tutankhamen by Howard Carter in 1922. The Well Dressing Festival ends this weekend culminating in the Buxton Carnival on Saturday at 2pm. After a recent comment about the foot stool and knowing that the conservatory is a popular space for seating, we have replaced the wicker chairs with a sofa.

A busy week of making improvements for the Easter holidays and onwards! In order to provide more flexible sleeping arrangements for family groups, we have replaced the single bed with a purpose built adult sized bunk bed that also makes a cosy sleeping arrangement for children! We have also replaced the snooker table with an American pool table!

After a rather difficult 2 years, it was lovely to welcome our Christmas and New Year guests and to welcome 2022 with slightly more optimism going forwards. We still have plenty of availability throughout the year including this coming weekend at a discounted price of £1000 for up to 14 people. Celebrating 150 years of the Pavilion Gardens, the well dressing team have done an amazing job creating this work of art. The Well Dressing usually occurs in July in Buxton so this is a lovely bonus for our visitors staying this week
