Cressbrook Dale is our nearest and most spectacular dale. Here it is in summer (last Friday) and in winter.

Early evening walk in Tideswell Dale with happy dogs. You can park at the picnic site and walk down to Litton Mill. Also accessible by bus (65 to Buxton). Fantastic for flowers.

Our walk on Sunday: the Monsal Trail which used to be the railway line from Bakewell to Buxton is very pretty and easy walking or cycling. You can join it at various points. This is Millers Dale station, where you can park and enjoy the facilities. It is accessible by bus (65 to Buxton). Monsal Head also has access to the Monsal Trail and access by bus (173 between Bakewell and Castleton).

My own out of season holidays at Cross View are a huge treat, and I especially appreciate it after COVID. I booked the cottage for myself for the whole of January to give myself and the cottage some TLC, before the season starts. Here are some of my favourite photos from the last month.
