Buxton is surrounded by stunning countryside, offering a wide range of walks for all abilities. Here are a few popular options:
1. Solomon’s Temple
A relatively short and easy walk, this takes you up to Solomon’s Temple, a small tower offering panoramic views of Buxton and the surrounding Peak District. It’s perfect for a quick but rewarding hike.
2. The Pavilion Gardens and River Walk
A more relaxed option, this walk takes you around the beautiful Pavilion Gardens and along the River Wye. It’s ideal for a peaceful stroll, especially in the spring and summer months when the gardens are in full bloom.

7. Bunsall to the Great Rocks Dale
A hidden gem, this walk takes you into the quieter, less-explored part of the Peak District. Great Rocks Dale is a lovely, atmospheric location with dramatic scenery, including some interesting rock formations.
8. Cressbrook Dale
A scenic and somewhat hidden gem, Cressbrook Dale is part of the Monsal Trail and offers beautiful limestone scenery and a tranquil, peaceful atmosphere.
9. The Tissington Trail
Starting near Buxton, this trail runs along an old railway line and provides an easy walk with beautiful views of the countryside, especially in autumn.
