It wasn't the clearest nights to watch the meteor shower last night at the farm but took a few shots anyway. Hardly any light pollution here so if star gazing is your thing why not come and stay and take in the sky at night.

With the weather turning colder and wintry showers forecast for the upcoming week, here are a 5 handy tips when visiting us.

1. Wrap up warm for your walk. Our woodlands provide shelter, but the top of Grinlow Hill and Solomon's Temple is much more exposed.

2. Sturdy footwear is a must! Our woodlands paths are not paved or gritted. This is a natural environment and can get very slippy underfoot.

3. Check the weather before you travel. Green Lane can become impassable in icy and snowy conditions. You may need to walk to us, as our car park will only be open when it is deemed safe to use.

4. Book on to a cave tour. Our cave is a constant 7 degrees Celsius, much warmer than the forecasted -2C. Tour spaces are limited, so do pre-book via our website.

5. Bring your own flask. Our promotes reusing and recycling and will happily fill your flask with your choice of hot drink rather than using takeaway cups.

Poole's Cavern & Country Park is a great place to visit all year round, but a touch of snow is truly magical. Please share your photos and memories with us, as we love to hear from our visitors.

🍾🎉 We are OPEN! 🎉🍾

After a much needed refresh in the pub and a full kitchen renovation, we are back open for business today from 12 onwards!

After a mad week of cleaning, clearing, and sorting, we are finally getting there! Huge thanks goes to all the builders, electricians, painters and all the staff members who came in to help get the pub back in shape! And finally to our lovely customers who have been so patient with us closing this week!

We do have a slightly reduced menu on for today and booking is recommended! But we are so excited to welcome you all back for your Lazy Trout fix!
