(24)

All set within a working farm surrounded by beautiful unspoilt countryside. We have converted one of the traditional farm buildings (the old cart-shed) into a fully-equipped self-catering accommodation. Fernyford Barn is a delightful property with stone floor downstairs and solid oak flooring on the first floor, exposed oak and stone lintels giving warmth and character. It has an open plan living

room with fire place, fully-equipped kitchen, double bedroom with 5ft bed and second bedroom with two single beds. The property has its own patio area to sit out and enjoy the peaceful location. Fernyford is a great place to get a feel of what life is like on a working farm. The farm enterprises consist of a herd of 20 Belted Galloway cows with followers and a flock of 200 Swaledale ewes with the emphasis being the production of top quality breeding stock. We also have some free-range chickens, friendly Collie dogs Liz, Skye, Jaz, spaniel Flash and Sparkle, the cat.

Our Story

Big Fernyford Farm is an upland stock farm located in open countryside on Reapsmoor, between Longnor and Warslow, where we run our Swaledale sheep and Belted Galloway cattle. Fernyford is a great place to get a feel of what life is like on a working farm. Farming never stops, so there's always something to see. The farm enterprises consist of a herd of 20 Belted Galloway cows with followers and a flock of 200 Swaledale ewes with the emphasis being the production of top quality breeding stock. We also have some free-range chickens, two friendly Collie dogs Liz and Skye, and Sparkle, the cat. The latest news: We have become the proud owners of "the world's cutest sheep” - the first VALAIS BLACKNOSE SHEEP in Middle England here at Fernyford Farm, in the heart of Peak District!

We have converted one of the traditional farm buildings (the old cart-shed) into a fully-equipped self-catering accommodation. Fernyford Barn is a delightful property with stone floor downstairs and solid oak flooring on the first floor, exposed oak and stone lintels giving warmth and character. There is under-floor heating downstairs and in the bathroom. It has an open plan living room with fire place, fully-equipped kitchen, double bedroom with 5ft bed and second bedroom with two single beds. The property has its own patio area to sit out and enjoy the peaceful location.

Fernyford Barn offers a perfect balance between being able to completely unwind, or, if you prefer, getting involved with the day to day life of a working farm! We will be happy to offer our guests the opportunity to experience seeing the livestock on the farm, the different farming operations throughout the year and to taste quality meat produced on the holding.

Fernyford Farm is a traditional farm, and we love living here. This is a great part of the world, and we would really enjoy being able to share it with our guests. So, we look forward to welcoming you here on the farm! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you!
