The Ogwen area has been experiencing very busy periods recently and we're expecting the same as the weekend approaches.

Car parks are filling up very early in the mornings, so if you're planning to visit Cwm Idwal, Tryfan, the Glyderau or Carneddau, then how about parking a few miles down the road in Bethesda and catching the regular T10 bus to Ogwen? 🅿️ 🚌

Moss covered wall on the beautiful walk to Cybi’s Well. Cybi, a 6th-century saint is reputed to have lived in the area (the church in nearby Llangybi also bears his name), the well’s waters have long been believed to hold healing properties.

Our Story

3 cottages; 5 bedrooms sleeping 10 - 14; large dining table seats up to 20 for dinner; 10 acres of rewilded natural beauty; a beach; a stream, wildlife ponds, a games field; picnic areas; seaside camp; carbon neutral and all in total privacy.

Ty Coch is a self-catering holiday let with hotel quality beds, linen, towels and toiletries. Everything is designed to combine comfort, character and simplicity. We take pride in being well equipped for your stay so you can pack light and concentrate on the fun things. All of the products provided from the shampoo to the laundry liquid and loo rolls are eco friendly and the produce in our generous welcome hamper are all locally sourced.

Once a former coastal farm in the small village of Clynnog Fawr, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Llyn Peninsula, we restored and converted the derelict farm buildings in 2008 to provide the perfect retreat for large families or friends. Booked as a whole, The Cottage, Barn and Dairy have been designed for sharing. The cottages sleep 10 to 14 guests over the 5 bedrooms, with a huge table The Dairy kitchen seating up to 20 guests and a large sofa area with a log burner in The Cottage there are generous communal spaces to get together and ample space to spread out. Ty Coch is a haven for wildlife and a place of peace and tranquillity where you can relax and recharge while the children to run free. Down on the pebble beach low tide reveals a large sandbank which is perfect for paddling or foraging amongst the rocks and at high tide is wonderful for a bracing swim.

On the Wales Coast Path and the pilgrim route to Bardsey Island, it is within easy reach of Anglesey and the Menai Straits, the Snowdonia National Park and the coastal towns and beaches of the Llyn Peninsula. The village of Clynnog Fawr, with the distinctive Tudor church tower of St Beuno, is a ten minute walk (or twenty via the green lane from the end of the beach). It’s a great place for everything outdoors, birdwatching, walking, cycling, kayaking, trekking, coasteering, surfing, yachting and lounging. There are Iron Age forts, ancient churches, medieval castles, characterful old pubs & exceptional new restaurants and of course beaches, cliffs, mountains and lakes.
