Kelly’s Adventure Diary 📔

Solo trip the the lakes. Was going to call on folks for social time but ended up rolling about the cosy inn with books, fires, naps and a stout.

I’ve got the smallest shower and bathroom I have EVER seen and could hardly fit in after my huge Cumbrian curly sausage meal!

After a failed attempt on Helvellyn, just a walk to close to the summit carrying all my winter gear, I turned back as the gusts and windchill were wild.

Let's be real... the Welsh 3000s challenge isn't all sunshine and smiles. On this day we were thankful for the rain to disguise the tears of joy and pain!!

I'm looking for 6 ladies to form my SUMMER date for 2025! My 3 days challenge takes in the 15 peaks over 3000 ft. The challenge is linear across 3 ranges and all logistics are organised by us... you just turn up, dig deep and walk.

50km... 4000m ascent... 3 days
Date: 4th-6th July
Start/finish: Llanberis
Price: £250
Group accommodation is organised for the challenge nights (£50 approx)

Well I’ve got no exciting outdoor pictures of late… the KDA side of life is in the planning phase and I’ve well and truly been locked up hard adminning.

I finally have a diagnosis!! Read on to find out more about this particular illness.

If you meet me other than on the mountain I am quiet, distant and overall depressed. Well I’ve finally been diagnosed as an Orophile*

🤒 well what does that mean you may ask?

* An orophile is someone who has a deep appreciation, love, or affinity for mountains and mountainous regions. These individuals often enjoy activities such as hiking, climbing, or simply spending time in the mountains, appreciating their natural beauty and serenity.

💊 Thankfully there’s a natural avenue for a remedy. See you on those mountains!

What’s your walking personality?

😊 Socialable, makes chit-chat and fills the gaps with waffle
😇 Bit shy at first then opens up with the group
🚷 Not great with new people or people in general and stays lonely and mysterious
🐶 Always ahead of the pack like an excited pup
😰 Like to huff and puff at the back and fight for oxygen in peace

What I love about my group events is that there’s always an eclectic mix of people but they always leave as friends and even get together especially for more dates on the mountain.
