Headline: Turning unsettled with arriving into the weekend.

This Evening and Tonight: A showery and very windy end to the day with gales, particularly in the north and west. Becoming drier overnight with plenty of clear spells and lighter winds developing by dawn. Turning chillier than Wednesday night. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Friday: A chilly but dry start to the day with hazy sunshine and lighter winds. Turning increasingly wet and windy as Storm Darragh arrives through afternoon and overnight. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Very unsettled through Saturday with some heavy rain and very strong winds, especially along the coasts. Turning colder on Sunday and Monday with sunny spells and the odd shower.

Today: A grey start with mist and hill fog, along with some patchy drizzle. Cloud tending to lift to allow some bright or sunny intervals to develop heading into this afternoon. Light winds, and a little milder. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight: Cloud will develop at times in the north this evening and overnight with patchy rain. Drier and clearer to the south with a touch of frost in the countryside. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Friday: A chilly but bright start in the south with any early fog soon clearing leaving plenty of sunny spells. A cloudier day in the north with patchy rain or drizzle. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Often cloudy on Saturday with rain moving through from the north. Unsettled on Sunday with heavy rain or showers and stronger winds. Sunshine and showers on Monday and turning colder.
