It’s Welsh Dark Skies week between Feb 21st - March 2nd 🌟 🌌

Did you know that Wales is one of the top destinations in the world for stargazing?

Eryri (Snowdonia) - just half an hour from Bach Wen was granted International Dark Sky Reserve status in 2015, as it is one of the darkest places remaining in Britain. Minimising light pollution is not only essential for the health of nocturnal wildlife, but also human wellbeing as well.

We are very lucky to be set within a quiet area of Clynnog, a village in North-West Wales. Fortunately there is minimal light pollution and so on cloudless nights we are regularly treated to the most dazzling skies … perfect for budding astronomers and stargazers.

Here are some recent photos (2&3) of a few of us at BW enjoying a bonfire whilst gazing up at the stars!

We are so proud of Wales’ beautifully vast, untouched natural landscape and all of the hard work that has gone on locally to ensure the skies are protected for future generations to enjoy.
