Chalon en Champagne. A Jean Benoit HERY vinery. A chalk cave built by the romans, during the 1st & 2nd world wars, red wine was produced for the troops of soldiers here. Later on, Germans made a secret weapons stash.
The wars have ended, and it has returned to being a winery. Best champagne ever taste, more good than famous and bigger brand. Jean, a delightful person, guided us through the visit with a final tasting.
