What inspired you to start Lockup Bottle Shop? What makes you unique?

I’ve been helping my father and uncle make and sell craft cider in Caerphilly for the last 15 years. During this time I’ve met a lot of great Welsh cider makers, brewers and distillers that don’t seem to get the local exposure that they deserve. Lockup Bottle Shop was created to become a place where we can celebrate high quality drinks produce from Wales and further afield, that you can’t find locally or in the supermarkets.

Whats the biggest benefits Lockup Bottle Shop brings to your customers?

We offer people the chance to discover drinks that they may have never even seen or heard of before. The aim is to showcase these amazing products and introduce people into a world outside of the big name companies you find in every pub, shop and restaurant. And the best thing about us is that we’re always on the hunt for new stock! Whether that’s a new style, flavour, or producer, there will always be something new in the shop since your last visit.

What's one thing people might not know about Lockup Bottle Shop?

Our website has a variety of services to make the customer experience even better. Without even leaving the house customers are able to browse our amazing products, order personalized bottles, sign up to our monthly beer club, and get it all delivered to their front door. And even better, as well as having national delivery options available, we offer free click and collect and free local delivery for up to 15 miles away from the shop!

Great News. Have been awarded Gold in the Great British Food awards. Judged by no other than Raymond Blanc one of my food heroes. Well done to Sandford Orchards and Dunkerton's who no doubt were strong competition.

Eligible private households in the Caerphilly borough can apply for grants to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

Caerphilly County Borough Council is encouraging residents whose homes have solid fuel (coal) fires, back boilers or single glazed windows to apply for help to make their home warmer.
