“Elegiac, informative and funny; some truly magical encounters in the wild” Peter Fiennes.
Fiona Mathews and Tim Kendall will take us on a safari unlike any other, based on their book Black Ops and Beaver bombing, where they travelled from Scotland to the Isles of Scilly in search of Britain’s marvelous animals. They will explore the many mammals of Britain, the threats to their survival, the struggles that plague conservation and what should be done to protect them.
Fiona Mathews is Professor of Environmental Biology at the University of Sussex, co-author of the Government’s State of Nature Report (2023) and founding chair of Mammal Conservation Europe.
Tim Kendall is Professor of English Literature at the University of Exeter and edited Britain’s Mammals (2018)
