๐ Gendarmenmarkt is arguably Berlin's most beautiful square and the site of three impressive buildings: the German Cathedral, the French Cathedral, and the Konzerthaus.
The Gendarmenmarkt square is best known for the building trio that frames it: the German the and French Cathedrals and the Konzerthaus (concert hall). Together, they form one of the most stunning architectural ensembles in Berlin. The eventful history of the Gendarmenmarkt can be traced back all the way to the 17th century. Each historical phase has left its architectural traces.

Venice is one of my personal favourites. I was licky enough to go as a child and as an adult (ill take hubby one day). There is so much history is one small little place filled with waterways
๐Venice is a 2 hour flight from London
๐ Venice, the capital of northern Italyโs Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals โ including the Grand Canal thoroughfare โ lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. The central square, Piazza San Marco, contains St. Markโs Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower offering views of the cityโs red roofs.
๐ The city rests on 118 islands separated by 150 canals
Many of the islands are knitted together with a series of 400 footbridges, but some, like famous Burano, Murano, and Torcello, are set further out in the lagoon and are only accessible by boat or water taxi.
๐ There are no cars in Venice
Once you reach the city center, you wonโt spot any cars: boats essentially take the place of cars in central Venice, and canals take the place of roads.
๐ Only four bridges cross the Grand Canal
