Trinity Hall, founded in 1350, is the fifth oldest college in Cambridge. It is one of the colleges founded following the the Black Death - the bubonic plague which swept across Europe and North Africa. Trinity Hall was founded to train lawyers, and it continues to have a reputation for law today.
In 1869 Cambridge University enrolled women for the first time but it was not until 1948 that women could earn a degree - making Cambridge both the first university in the UK to admit women and the last to award them degrees.

Gonville & Caius College, founded in 1348, is the fourth oldest college in Cambridge.
With 15 Nobel Prize winners to its name and the prestige of being the college where Stephen Hawking was employed, it seems a good place to begin our tours.

Trinity College, founded in 1546 by Henry VIII, has an impressive history.
Alumni of the college includes: Isaac Newton, Bertrand Russell, Lord Byron, A. A. Milne and yes, the recently coronated King Charles III.

Modelled on the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, the Round Church in Cambridge was founded between 1115-1131, shortly after the First Crusade.
Corpus Christi, founded in 1352, is one of a number of colleges established in Cambridge following the Black Death.
It remains the only college in Cambridge that was founded by the townsfolk of Cambridge - the guild of Corpus Christi and the guild of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Darwin College, founded in 1964, was the first co-educational AND the first postgraduate only college. It remains a postgrad only college and is known for having particularly good food.
The Pitt Building is home to the Cambridge University Press - the oldest publishing house in the world.

Magdalene College in 1987 became the last college of Cambridge University to enrol women. And on that day in 1987, members of Magdalene College wore black armbands and flew their flag at half mast declaring “the death of education”.
