The news is out! We’re excited to announce a change in Managing Director at The Citystay Group.

Neil Fernandez, co-founder, has been steering the company since the conception of Citystay in 2008 - our serviced apartment business in Cambridge. The reigns have been passed to Declan Fitzhenry, who has been with the Group for eight years, previously working as Operations Manager.

Who's our Head of Reservations? Lisa joined Citystay in May 2021 with lots of experience in the serviced accommodation space. She knows our apartments inside out, Marino Place being her favourite.

When we attended the Altos 2021 awards in December, we were all in agreement that 2021 was a challenging but uplifting year. The serviced apartment community came together, and we saw business travel bounce back better than we anticipated.

We want to introduce you to Rowan – a charity tackling social exclusion through art, music, and drama for adults with learning disabilities in Cambridgeshire. At Citystay, we’ve been passionate about giving back to communities close by and in other countries, and we’re pleased to share we’ve partnered with Rowan.

“At Rowan, we believe that people living with a disability should have the same choice, quality of life, opportunities and aspirations as others. By providing a variety of creative workshops, we develop the skills and potential of our students while improving their happiness, health and wellbeing. 15,000 people are set to take part in this year’s Cambridge Half Marathon, and two of them are in our team.

Declan Fitzhenry and Lisa Kerry are taking on the challenge and raising money for Something To Look Forward To (STLFT). The charity was founded by Fiona and Andy Coldron in 2015 after Fiona’s cancer returned in 2013, and provides those facing the effects of cancer and its treatment with positive individual and family experiences. By the end of 2020, STLFT had shared gifts worth more than £600,000 to over 12,500 people. The team at Citystay are running to make sure this charity can continue to make a difference, and for their own personal stories.
