What’s in the box?
Back in the days when we frequently went camping in the years B.C. (Before Child), we had what we referred to as ‘The Camping Box’. It had pretty much everything we needed in it for camping – stove, torches, pans, picnic set – everything except the tent and sleeping stuff, and was kept packed, ready to be deployed at a moment’s notice for another weekend away.
It was really useful. REALLY useful.
So when we moved to the farm, we decided to offer The Camping Box for guests who don’t have the gear nor the inclination to pack their whole kitchen for a weekend away. We have multiples and they’ve been so popular over the years. We regularly add to them following your recommendations - I mean, who would think to pack a grater? But it’s really useful for camp cooking.
If you hire a camping pack, it’s yours for the duration of your stay. So here’s what’s in the box, suitable for a family:
Large plates
Small plates
Bowls
Cups
Cutlery (which I I totally forgot to include in the laid out photo!)
Two pans, one with lid
Frying pan
Big bowl
Metal bowl
Grater
Chopping board - small and large
Knives - small and large, and sharp!
Jug
Wooden spoon x 2
Ladle
Spatula
Cooking spoon
Can opener
Bottle opener
Corkscrew
Peeler
Scissors
Lantern
USB charger for above (for kitchen charge points)
Camp stove
Gas
Lighter/matches
Tinfoil
It means you just need to pack your bedding and personal stuff which is so much easier when you’re heading out on a Friday afternoon and have kids to organise as well.
Interested? You can hire them on booking, or as an extra through our web shop for £25 per stay. It’ll be ready for you when you arrive.
Think there’s something missing? Let us know! Or if you’ve hired one in the past, what did you think?
