Proof that there was some sun in Cardiff over the bank holiday weekend ☀️

Thanks to everyone who joined me on different tours across the long weekend, in both Cardiff & Swansea. Across the last five days there were 13 tours in total, including six different types of tour, and hundreds of visitors from around the world. Thankfully, despite the wind, rain and occasional sun, people still made a big effort to enjoy their holiday weekend and wanted to learn about Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Now time for a couple of days off before we go again on Thursday 💪

Happy Billy Joel in Cardiff Day! 🎤🎶🎹

As ever on the day of a big concert, there is a great atmosphere around the city, slowly building across the morning and afternoon. So many people from around the world are visiting Cardiff due to the gig as well.

Thanks to all these lovely people for making this morning's tour such an enjoyable experience, and thanks to the sun for making a comeback today too ☀️

It's only Thursday but it has been a great week of tours already. Thanks to the dozens and dozens of people who have joined us on different public and private walking tours around Cardiff over the last few days 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️

From different conferences taking place at Cardiff Uni and other international student groups, to different individuals, couples and families, we've been joined by people from all over the world, from Guatemala to Hong Kong 🇬🇹🇭🇰

We're reaching our most consistently busy period of the year now, so if you're visiting Cardiff be sure to join us on one of our public tours every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday. If you're in Swansea this summer keep an eye out for the Castle's in the Sky art trail which is spread all around the city.

It will be around until 15 September, and is brought to us by Wales Air Ambulance. The trail features a series of castle sculptures, designed by local artists and sponsored by local businesses, in streets, parks and public places throughout the city. All of the 'castles' feature references to Welsh life, history and culture, from daffodils and lighhouses to Doctor Who, including one of the city's favourite sons...Russell T Davies (look out for him and the Doctor at Swansea Station.)

Incoming.… The Cardiff food and drink festival opens Friday lunch time from 12pm

Serving up some of the tastiest treats in town and an eclectic line-up of local musicians, Cardiff Food and Drink Festival is back in Cardiff Bay for summer 2024 – and it promises to be a real feast for the senses!

Taking place in the Oval Basin from Friday July 5th– Sunday July 7th, Wales’s biggest free food festival supports more than 100 small businesses including festival favourites like , and Franks Hotdogs

Happy Taylor Swift Day from Cardiff! 🎤

Thanks to everyone who joined the free walking tour this morning, was great fun meeting all the swifties, non-swifties and even Doctor Who fans from around the world 🌎 The tour was a real reflection of the fun, laid back atmosphere and excited anticipation that was evident around the city over the last couple of days.

Great tours this week with the Hereford Guild of Guides, a collection of 30 walking tour guides from Hereford. Was interesting to share information and experiences, as well as show them around Cardiff.

📢🥳 Exciting news from Fogo's Tours as Eugene and his wife have welcomed their second little boy into the world over the last few days 👶

Everyone is doing very well but as a consequence, tours have been slightly less frequent throughout the month of May due to a paternity break 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦

Tours are still continuing during May however, just on a slightly reduced schedule, with my extremely capable and trusted colleagues, like Remo in the photo above.

🗓️ During May the public Cardiff tour takes place every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday (as well as holiday Monday on 27 May)... The schedule will then expand again into June and summertime 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️

Another very busy Easter weekend has come and gone 🐣

Between Holy Thursday and Easter Tuesday alone 13 different tours took place with hundreds of people from over 40 different nationalities, from Philippines 🇵🇭 to Puerto Rico 🇵🇷

Easter weekend is also always anniversary weekend at Fogo's Tours, with the first ever tour taking place on 31 March 2018 🎉 Still going strong and busier than ever exactly 6 years on 💪

Thanks to everyone who made it such an enjoyable, and hectic, weekend, whether it was in the wind, rain, hail or sunshine ⛈️☀️

Had a great afternoon on Saturday with this lovely group from , talking about some of the more niche and quirky aspects of Cardiff history and architecture seeing as they were all local.

It broke up the weekend nicely between all the French people on other tours, as well other unexpected nationalities who were in town for the rugby, like Switzerland, Spain & USA 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇫🇷🏉

It was a very vibrant weekend around the city. The Sunday afternoon kick-off made it feel more like a two day event, helped by the French fans making a longer trip of it than some of the other countries do...

Happy International Women's Day! 🟣🟢

To mark the occasion Swansea's newest park has been named in honour of one of the city's most notable historical figures, Amy Dillwyn

The coastal park by Swansea Arena has been officially named the Amy Dillwyn Park in memory of the accomplished 19th century novelist, industrialist, businesswoman and philanthropist, who was also a member of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies. 

Born in Sketty, Swansea, in 1845, she wrote six novels on themes including feminism and social reform and following her father's death she personally managed and saved from debt the family's spelter works in Llansamlet.

A plaque dedicated to Amy Dilwyn will be placed at the park in central Swansea in the near future but there already is one outside her former home on Mumbles Road (now a nursing home).

Been an interesting last 10 days of tours...🚶‍♂️

Thanks to the Antwerp based students of for the tours in Cardiff city centre and Cardiff Bay last week, to Henry VIII and his many wives for one of the more unique tour experiences of recent times, to the Québecois High School students for trudging through the rain and of course to the many others from around the world who have joined different tours over the last couple of weeks 😴

There is a busy March in store, with France & Italy in town in the Six Nations and then Easter, during which there will be many public Cardiff tours available, as well as Dark Side & Cardiff Bay Tours... ☠️👻🌊

What a great weekend! Mid February is usually the first really busy weekend of the year, and thankfully this year has been no different.

Enjoyed a lovely tour this afternoon in Cardiff with a group of students from the British Council's Chevening scholarship programme; a group of people studying all around the UK from Guinea, Myanmar, Jordan, DRC, Namibia, Uzbekistan, Jamaica and more!

Believe it or not this is actually a new photo...think I need to start using different spots around town though...

Anyway, there was a great turnout on Saturday for what was a frosty, windy, mid-January, Cardiff walking tour💨 Thanks to everybody who joined the tour, from Pembrokeshire to Hong Kong. It was educational morning, learning about The Alarm 🚨 🎼 & Gwiwerod 🐿️🐿️

This was just one of six public and private tours that took place last week, making it the busiest January on record already🚶‍♂️

Regular Cardiff city tours continue every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 11am. Sunday tours return from 4 February also 🗓️
