What should gym owners being doing during lockdown?

1. Look after your customers and they will look after you. Communicate with them regularly.
2. Use the time to plan how you will be better when you reopen - what changes can you make?
3. Take stock - is your asset register up to date? (If you need a template let us know).
4. What can you do now? Are there any of those jobs you have been putting off that you can do while the club is closed?

Opening a new club - here are some pre-sell tips.
1. Decide how many memberships you need pre - opening - this is your sales target - go for it!
2. Phase sell your memberships. Offer x amount of memberships for x amount of money (your lowest price).
3. Have three phases of discount pre opening - for example - Only 200 memberships at $15 - once they are gone they are gone. Next 200 members pay $17 etc.
4. Advertise these as soon as possible - make sure you are set up back office to sign these people up.
5. Have an online join up option from day one.
6. Get some graphics or pictures and a plan of what your club will look like to show prospects.
7. Get out and talk to as many local businesses as possible - give them some guess passes and some marketing material and invite them to your opening party.
8. Plan an opening party and invite the most influential people in your community as well as any local reporters for TV or newspapers.
9. Offer some free memberships to worthy people in the community. Try to get some press coverage. Raise money for a local charity etc.
10. Get the word out there through any type of marketing you can. Make sure you measure how well each one does for you. The better performing ones can be used again.
