Everest Base Camp Trek - Day 12

The final day of the trek! Woah, she's always a big one, and on tired legs too. The team dug in on a hot day to walk another 20km with 800m ascent and a massive 1400m descent.

Everyone kept plugging away, soaking up the final day of amazing Himalayan views and Sherpa hospitality.

We're now back in Lukla with a beer in hand. We'll soon shower and celebrate with our small trekking team. Tomorrow we will (hopefully) fly out of Lukla and then bus it back to Kathmandu. Just a few days remain!

Well done team, you've been awesome πŸ‘

Everest Base Camp Trek - Day 11

Our penultimate day, and a biggy! Without the need to break our ascent or walk slowly in order to accmatise, we can link some kilometres together and get back down the trail.

We've trekked 20km, with 800m ascent, and about 1500m ascent too! The 'thicker' air and acclimatisation to higher altitudes certainly helped the team get through this day, but there's no doubt, it's a tough one. The views have been amazing yet again, and we saw Everest for the final time on this trip.

Tomorrow we trek another 20km to Lukla to bring this epic experience to a close.

Everest Base Camp - Day 10

Our first day of descent, and after spending the night at 5100m, the team were very much ready to lose some altitude.

We first negotiated the rugged trails back to Lobuche, and then enjoyed easier walking to Thukla, and then onto Periche

Just 2 days of trekking left on this amazing adventure.

Everest Base Camp- Day 9

The BIG day! Today, we visited EBC, and I'm really glad to say the entire team made it there too! We started out early from Lobuche and tackled rugged paths to Gorak Shep. After a bite to eat we departed for EBC.

It took us about 90 minutes to get to EBC, with the team digging in deep against the altitude and a bit of illness for some. We spent a good bit of time at EBC, soaking up the scene and of course taking loads of pics!

It's really great to see all 6 of the fundraisers get to EBC too, this will no doubt help bring in a few more donations for an ace cause.

We're now back at Gorak Shep, and tomorrow we start our descent with a 13km walk down to Periche (4300m)

** Join us in April 2026 to trek to the world famous EBC!**

Everest Base Camp Trek - Day 8

Overall, it was a fairly short day for the team as we moved from Dingboche to the village of Lobuche at 4900m. There's no doubt, the team are finding the day after day nature of the trek getting to their legs now, and mix that with being at high altitude, it's time for folks to dig in.

We enjoyed yet more amazing views, and took some time at the Thukla Pass memorials too.

Tomorrow we head for Everest Base Camp! The team can't wait to hit their final objective.

Everest Base Camp - Day 7

It was certainly a put your hands up and smile kind of day. Today, was our second acclimatisation day of the trek. From Dingboche, we climbed up to 4900m steadily, making the most of the epic views as we went.

We're now back in Dingboche ready to enjoy our last relaxing afternoon of the trek. Tomorrow we head to Lobuche, and on Tuesday we head for EBC!

Yet again, the team are still super strong πŸ’ͺ

** Come with us in April 2026 and enjoy this! **

Everest Base Camp - Day 6

This is one of my fave days on the trail, and I think most of the group would agree it's a bit of a belter!

We left Debuche at about 8am and enjoyed easy trails to Pangboche where we stopped for a drink. All the time we had the amazing Ama Dablam standing above us looking awesome!

We continued and had lunch, before easy walking across to Dingboche (4400m). Once we dropped our bags at the accommodation, we climbed a further 100m above the village to promote a 'Climb High, Sleep Low' mentality in order to aid our sleep tonight.

We'll be in Dingboche for two nights now, as tomorrow is another acclimatisation day. We're now less than 1000m of elevation from EBC, but it's all still to play for! With that said, the team have been superb with getting all the small things right and they're all feeling very good!

Everest Base Camp - Day 5

Our journey today took us from Namche Bazaar to Debuche, via Tengboche Monastery.

The start of the walk is sublime, with easy trails allowing for us to soak up the views well. For lunch we had to descend a few hundred metres to the river. The afternoon demanded a 600m ascent up to the infamous Tengboche Monastery which the team visited. From here it was a short descent down to Debuche where we'll stay for the night.

Yet again, everyone is doing very well and loving Nepal! (Unsurprisingly!)

** Join us in April 2026 to trek to EBC. You'll love it! **

Everest Base Camp Trek - Day 4

We saw Everest! Today is our first of two acclimatisation days built into this trek. We started early from Namche and climbed steeply up to the Everest View cafe. Here, the group gained their first view of Everest, as well as other Himalayan giants such as Lhotse and Ama Dablam.

On our way down we visited the Sagarmatha Next visitors centre to learn about how trash is being cleaned up out of the valley.

All the team are doing super and loving the trek. This day of acclimatisation will help settle the body in a bit more to being at altitude.

Everest Base Camp - Day 3

Another super duper day in the trail, and one of the hardest of the entire trek in the bag too πŸ’ͺTodsy the team trekked about 12 km from Phakding (2600m) up to Namche Bazaar at 3500m. The first part of the day enjoys undulating trails, and then after lunch we had to get some ascent in! First up was the Hilary Bridge, which is the highest suspension bridge (in terms of drop below!) In Nepal. After this we zig-zagged up the hillside to Namche, the Sherpa Capital.

Everyone is doing well and really enjoying themselves!

Everest Base Camp - Day 2

The trek has begun!

We left our hotel at 4:45am and got to the airport shortly after. We had a bit of a wait at the airport, but with clear skies at both ends of the flight we were stress free knowing we'd get on a plane sometime.

By 8:00am we were at Lukla and we grabbed some breakfast. We soon got going with our trek and we took the trails nice and easy to Phakding, via some lunch at a teahouse. In total we walked 7.5km and dropped some altitude down to 2600m.

We're now safely ensconced in the Everest Bakery replenishing calories (that we probably didn't actually burn πŸ˜…)

Everest Base Camp 2025 - Day 1

I think everyone slept like the dead last night after all the traveling to get to Nepal!

We kicked off the day with a trek brief, which really is just used to reiterate some of the main points going into the trek such as hydration, health and hygiene.

We then got on our bus for a 5 hour drive out to Ramechaap, from which we'll fly to Lukla tomorrow. We broke the journey up with a lovely buffet style lunch, and then celebrated the Nepalese New Year with a beer when we got to the hotel.

It's an early alarm of 4:30am tomorrow, but all being well, we'll take off around 6:30am, and we can then get trekking!

Most of our May Mount Toubkal team met up in Capel Curing this morning for a team social walk, play, scramble, and a bit of a general chat about what the trek will be like.

Originally we thought about Ogwen, but then remembered it was the beginning of the school holidays coupled with a fantastic forecast! Instead we opted for a much quieter route and headed up Moel Siabod via the Daear Ddu ridge. A lovely day with a great team.... Everyone's now buzzing with excitement for our fabulous Moroccan adventures!
