The Heart of Wales Train Line has connected Swansea and Shrewsbury for over 150 years. Today, you can walk 6 routes in Carmarthenshire that shadow the tracks, meandering between stations and miles of wonderful Welsh countryside. A must-see along the routes is the Cynghordy Viaduct in the beautiful Afon Bran valley🚂🛤️

To celebrate Wales Women football team making their first-ever appearance at a major international tournament — the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 and build national excitement, a Giant Cymru Shirt — a 4-metre tall inflatable Wales jersey — is touring key towns and cities across Wales. ⚽

As part of the tour, the shirt will be making a special appearance in Carmarthen on Monday 23 June, where it will be on display in Guildhall Square from 11am to 7pm. Members of the public are encouraged to visit, take photos, and show their support for the national women’s team ahead of their opening match against the Netherlands on 5 July.

I ddathlu Dîm Pêl-droed Cenedlaethol Menywod Cymru yn cystadlu am y tro cyntaf erioed mewn twrnamaint rhyngwladol mawr — sef UEFA EWRO Menywod 2025, mae crys Cymru enfawr 4 metr o uchder ar daith o amgylch rhai o drefi a dinasoedd Cymru. ⚽

Fel rhan o'r daith, bydd y crys yn dod i Gaerfyrddin ddydd Llun 23 Mehefin, lle bydd yn cael ei arddangos yn Y Clos Mawr rhwng 11am a 7pm. 🐶 Dog friendly Carmarthenshire 🐶

A recipe for a perfect day trip with your four-legged friend – a trip on the Teifi Valley Railway which happily welcomes dogs 🚂 🚂

Teifi Valley Railway is a 2ft gauge narrow gauge railway built on the former GWR Newcastle Emlyn branch line in rural West Wales . The train departs from Henllan Station and heads to Pontprensh*tw, where it makes a stop to view the waterfall before returning to Henllan
Follow it up with a lazy lunch at the Bunch of Grapes Well behaved dogs are welcome in this Grade II listed pub in the heart of Newcastle Emlyn 🍇

The pub has a selection of dog biscuits ready on the bar, including homemade gluten free ones for dogs prone to allergies. There are even sausages available on request! 🦴

Clean Air Day 2025 – 19 June – and there’s plenty to celebrate in Carmarthenshire!💚

Since 2009, we’ve made major strides in reducing air pollution across the county.

Our three air quality management areas in Llandeilo, Llanelli, and Carmarthen are all showing significant improvements thanks to ongoing efforts by the Council and our communities.

This Clean Air Day, let’s celebrate these achievements and keep working together for a healthier, greener Carmarthenshire.
