It was great to hear all about the US States of Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia from the experts. And all while enjoying a delicious afternoon tea 😋. Lovely afternoon spent with travel industry colleagues, so good to get back in the room after 2 years of zoom training 😀 ✈️

Today is my first day back from holiday and I've had a lovely afternoon in Coventry at the Ladiesfirst Professional Development Business Awards meeting being interviewed as a Finalist in the Service Provider of the Year category. I am so proud to have been nominated and chosen by my networking colleagues as a Finalist from so many talented people working in a wide variety of industries. Looking forward to the Awards Ceremony in March x

So enjoyed the Travel Counsellors Supplier Take-over Day today when alongside my local Travel Counsellors I got to meet a number of our valued suppliers. Do Something Different, Celebrity Cruises, Riviera Travel, Universal Orlando/ Hollywood, Virgin Voyages, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Flexible Autos and Southern World our Australia and New Zealand destination management company are only a few of our preferred suppliers who all took the time to tell us about their amazing products and what's coming up next year and beyond. After the challenges of the last couple of years when events like this just couldn't take place I'm so happy we are now able to rebuild our relationships with our supplier colleagues who are vital links between us our customers and the products and services we sell. A great day all round😍.

I just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

It has been a tough couple of years for many of us both personally and in our work lives and my heart goes out to those of you who have been affected. My business has survived thanks to the support of my loyal customers and I am so grateful for your continued support and patience and for the referrals you are giving me, thank you.

I think we have a long way to go before the wonderful world of travel returns to the easy, carefree joy of booking a holiday that we knew 2 years ago. But I do think we are on the right road and with the help of a trusted travel advisor such as myself to guide you through the minefield of country entry protocols and testing requirements, overseas holidays are very much on the horizon. We still need to take great care in our social activities and be very aware of travel advice but I am optimistic that the opportunity for carefree travel will return very soon.

Like many others I am taking a break over the festive season but I am very much looking forward being back at my desk in the new year and helping my customers, old and new, to plan their long awaited dream holidays.

It's been a while since I posted on this page but the time has now come for me to feel confident to say that the wonderful world of travel is definitely in the fast lane to recovery. I had a fabulous day on Wednesday at the Grand Hotel in Birmingham. This was our first in person Travel Counsellors event for two years and it was wonderful to see so many friends, colleagues, suppliers and TC head office staff. Its been a tough couple of years but Travel is well and truly back with sales now exceeding 2019 levels! I've never had so many enquiries and it’s going to be a busy end to the year! With Brexit nearly complete please note 5 important changes you need to be aware of and check when travelling to the EU from January 2021.

Also you need to check the quarantine restrictions at the destination and for when you arrive back in the UK, you also need to keep an eye on this as it may change after you have made your travel plans.

Also, some destinations require proof of a negative covid test and they may also require a health declaration form to be presented on arrival or at check in at the airport. Some require to you produce a QR code also.

As we come out of lockdown and the world is slowly opening up again I just wanted to break my silence on this page. The last 9 months have been really tough for us travel agents. But, as I am sure many of you are aware I have been here, working every day, caring for my customers who had the disappointment of holidays being cancelled and ensuring their refunds were actioned. I’ve also been amending and rearranging many holidays from this year to 2021 securing deposits and balances paid to suppliers so no one loses their hard earned money. Fortunately one or two of you managed to get away in the summer but I’ve mainly been working on new holiday quotes for next year and beyond. I’ve been in travel for over 30 years and will not be giving up what I love and what I have worked so hard for. Further restrictions announced. We have been informed by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) that they are now advising against all but essential travel to the following destinations:

Portugal (excluding The Azores and Madeira)
Hungary
French Polynesia
Reunion

For customers currently in the above destinations

The FCO is not advising those already travelling to leave at this time. UK citizens should follow the advice of the local authorities for the rest of their stay on how best to protect themselves and others from COVID-19.

🇬🇷 Breaking News this evening regarding Greece. We have been informed by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) that they are now advising against all but essential travel to the following Greek Islands

o Tinos
o Serifos
o Mykonos

o Santorini
o Zakynthos
