Our Story
Set yards from the banks of the stunning Loch Ken, Rhonepark Steading is nestled in the picturesque village of Crossmichael in South West Scotland. The family friendly pub, shop and ancient chapel make up the sleepy but enchanting village. Castle Douglas, 3 miles to the south of the village, was recently awarded the status of ‘Food Town’ boasting over 50 small businesses that sell top quality local produce. With many bars, pubs and restaurants, a traditional Scottish night out - or even a Greek or Indian Night out – lie in wait.
Ideally Placed, 15 miles South from the breath taking National Park, The Galloway Forest, which sees snow topped mountains from Autumn, roaming dear in the Spring and Autumn and mischievous otters in the Summer. There is no better setting for a seasonal walk, picnic or a sightseeing drive.
15 miles to the South sees miles of sandy beaches and coastal walks, including the quaint villages of Auchencain, Rockcliffe and Kippford. All with mysterious coves, tales of years gone by and warm & friendly pubs and eateries.
With castles, history, watersport, fishing, art, literature, small ports, and rolling mountains, it is hard to believe that , Rhonepark Steading sits within reach of day trips to Belfast and Edinburgh, and only 3 and a half hours drive from the Midlands and North West of England.
