Perched right on the water’s edge in the village of Cawsand, this stunning holiday home couldn’t

This bedroom is always popular and also gets lots of positive comments - I think it’s the combination of the calming colour - denim blue - the reclaimed wood, the organic fabrics and vintage vibes. With the joys of “the best superking bed we’ve ever slept on” (as described by one of our guest last year) made up with sumptuous Egyptian cotton linens and a duvet. The room came be made up as a superking or a twin - so it’s ideal for all generations!

If this year is about putting your health top of your priorities then do think about coming to No 3. I’ve talked before about the well known benefits of sea air and lots of walking or swimming but if you haven’t visited then let me tell you about the sitting room. It’s a huge room - with its reclaimed oak floor and amazing light and is the perfect place for some yoga practice. So mat and blocks are ready and waiting for you. (But yes there are comfy sofas, art and you can just curl up and read too !)

Just off for a cheeky late afternoon bath but got stopped in my tracks by the look of the sky and sea at dusk tonight - I mean it’s stunning isn’t it? Had to share - just be wrong not to!

I’m on special duty. I’m not doing beach watch anymore. I’m looking for Santa Paws. And he’s coming really soon - 10 days Mum says - no idea how long that is but I’m going to sit here and keep watch! ❤️

The sky in winter from the sitting room is just stunning. Sitting on the super comfy sofas or on this window seat, glass of something in hand or a cup of tea and just relax and look at the changing colours, the waves, the birds and the weather. But the key thing is to relax!

Whatever the weather it’s so lovely to be in the fresh sea air. And if it’s windy and chilly then surely tea and crumpets just taste even better?

You can’t get tired on this view. For over 500 years there has been a history of nautical lookouts at Rame Head. In the eleventh century the chapel, dedicated to St Michael, was built and it was granted a licence to act as a place of worship in 1397. The extra climb is worth it to the chapel for the far reaching views. And you might even see a whale like the lucky folks a couple of weeks ago (yes I’m still jealous!)
There’s a wonderful sea shanty called Spainish Ladies that mentions Rame Head - lovely to hear it being singled out - as it is so striking and must have been so welcoming as a sight for those returning from their sea adventures. Love a bit of local history!

Bright autumnal or wintery days are wonderful on the window seat. Conversations go something like this
“oh look there’s someone swimming - they are brave”
“The water is an amazing colour isn’t it?”
“Did we finish that cake/wine/cheese from ?”
“I might kayak this afternoon as it’s so calm - do you know what time high tide is?”
“Shall we take a couple of beers up to Penlee Point and see the sunset?”
“I’m reading such a good book - might just curl up here and crack on with it - but make me a tea when you next go downstairs”
“I’m going to stop looking out the window and have a long bath!”

The view makes everyone relax - whatever the weather!

Is there anything more glorious than great weather in September? I keep wanting to do a post about “wintering” (I know - I didn’t know it was a verb either!) but the weather is too lovely to think about mashed potatoes and slow casseroles (although that does appeal pretty much at any time of year to me 😂) hope you have a good Sunday all!

Gosh how my heart loves this path and view. The combination of this quiet stretch of the coastal path and the old trees with the sea twinkling as a prize at the end just literally make me happy to my core! When we were kids would you have believed this kind of thing would make us so happy? Aging is weird isn’t it? 😂

And so it’s suddenly September - and with the beginnings of the changes that a new season approaching brings we all look to start something a new. September for many of us means a new school year - and thus ingrained in us - new exercise books, new things to learn, new shoes. It’s no surprise that September is almost as popular as January for starting to think about giving things up/taking things up. I think the changes in the length of day are now much more noticeable so we begin to think about this new season. And yes it’s sad that summer is almost over (still sunny here mind!) it’s also lovely that there are new joys to look forward to. Mash potatoes, casseroles, lovely long walks and then a slow lunch. And the water in the sea is at its warmest in September - and still lovely in October. And of course there is the bath to retreat to here - I love a late afternoon bath with a cup of tea( or wine!) , a book and something lovely and smellie in the bath. It’s just pure heaven.
We do have a few gaps for autumn here at No 3 so if you do want to get away - just let me know. And we do have a week over Christmas too - although New Year week has now gone. Happy September everyone.

We had the most amazing afternoon sailing @thebountyproject with @conradhumphreys last week. The Bounty is an exact replica of Captain Bligh’s boat that he escaped from the famous mutiny in 1789. In one of the most extraordinary feats of bravery and tenacity - he sailed this little boat 4000 miles to safety! We only did an afternoon but it was such fun and no rum involved! Conrad is a brilliant guide, teacher, sailor and raconteur - so we learnt lots and loved every moment. We even sailed right up to the house as it was high tide which was so great!
