From there I did a year working with an agency gaining further experience with different age early years children. In 2001 I started working in a local authority nursery in inner London where I spent then next 12 years. During my time there I worked with chil

Since becoming a childminder I have looked after children ranging from 1 year old all the way through to 9 at present. From September I will have vacancies for children under 5 on a variety of days. I also drop off and collect from Warren Primary and have vacancies for both before and after school drop off and collection as well as holiday cover. Please feel free to contact me t find out if I am able to help.

The children discovered new additions to our dual language books today - My First 100 Albanian and Mandarian Words. I have been taught that a chocolate cake in Albanian is pronounced Cokollate Tortë 🎂. One little one was very proud of me, told me I said it correctly and I deserved a high five 👋 😍

For healthy eating week today we went to the shops to buy a selection of different food to try. We picked a mixture of fruits, vegetables and a few treats because although the children knew about the importance of fruit and vegetables it's also important that we need all types of foods to create a healthy, balanced diet and that everything is okay to eat in little amounts. We recorded which foods were our favourites and which we wouldn't like to have again. There was a clear winner that mango and crisps were delicious and they would like the mango as one of their fruits with lunch.

This morning for healthy eating week the children chose the ingredients to make a smoothie - bananas and blueberries with a splash of fresh orange. They all enjoyed cutting up the fruit, tasting it to make sure it was going to make a delicious smoothie and putting it in the blender. They were fascinated with watching it change colour as all the ingredients were all mixed together. When it came to trying it everyone declared it was delicious and one little one asked it we could make a yellow one tomorrow so we shall see if we cam find a reciepe.

With today being 🐝 we started out by colour and pattern matching to create our bees. Whilst doing this we talked about what bees eat and what they make, one little one asked if they could try some honey. We started off dipping our apples into it and it was then requested that could it be spread on toast like their mummy has for breakfast. Everyone declared it was yummy but very sticky.

With this week being week we have had great fun talking about what makes us happy, what we enjoy but also things that may make us sad or worried but that is okay because we can tell grown ups about this and they will help to make things better. When completing our emotion puzzles we talked about what the faces showed and then the children were asked about their feelings.
Child one said that a monster made them scared.
Child two that mummy bringing them a new toy made them happy.
Child three said that their birthday made them excited.

The past two days the children have chosen activities that have caughter their imaginations combining various resources within the setting. The stones they collected from the garden and had great fun practicing those hand/eye coordination skills by using the spoons to push them from one end to the other. The magnetic toys caught their imagination and even more so once we discovered that they would/wouldn't connect to various objects within the setting.

Initiated by the children we had a lovely morning reading, amongst other things. We snuggled up on the sofa and here are just a few of the selection of books the children wanted me to read to them, followed by them going off and looking at books independently. The rich language that the children were using to talk about what they could see whilst we read was lovely to hear and seeing how engrossed in the books they were will hopefully lead to a lifetime love of reading.

Happy St Georges Day 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
The children enjoyed helping set up this activity by tearing and rolling the tissue paper and had great fun matching the colours of the paper with those on their flags. A lot of fine motor and mathematical skills used for this activity today.
We then went on to watch a cbeebies video about St George and how he beat the dragon.

Earlier in the week we looked at the life cycles of both a frog and a sunflower and discovered that as long we we put them in the correct numerical order we could just keep moving them and it would always go in a circle. On a very windy Monday the children had great fun playing in the fallen blossom from this amazing tree at school. Today we recreated the blossom tree, we looked at the picture and talked about various parts of the tree, what colour the blossom is, how we would create the colour and what we were going to use to apply the paint.

It may be been a wet and gloomy day but we had great fun with our new resources. Initially meant for the garden the children were very excited to see what had been delivered so we brought it into the cabin. The mathematical language today has been amazing as well the team work and seeing their imagination come to life bringing in a wide variety of other resources.

the children were asked if they would like to bring in their favourite books from home to share with their friends. This went down really well and everyone enjoyed listening and talking about their books and their favourite parts. As well as reading fiction books the children also chose a firm non-fiction favourite from the setting which got us talking about a wide variety of animals along with where they live.

We talked about the Luna New Year, how each year is represent by a different animal which everyone found very funny. Following on from the children's interest in shapes earlier in the week we made our shape dragons and the children discovered a new shape they didn't know - a semicircular.

we read The Colour Monster and talked about what made us feel happy/sad/angy, it was amazing how intune with their emotions the children were and were able to articulate them to me. Such a positive experience. Whilst I was preparing resources the children became fascinated with the lolly sticks so following their lead we discovered how we could make various shapes with plenty of number and colour talk as well.

we read one of our favourite books - Goldilocks and the Three Bears, used our props to act out the story and then made our very own porridge. There was a lot of mathematical talk regarding sizing of the bowels, spoons and bears along with some amazing fine motor skills filling up the bowels both with the spoons and using our fingers.

Strengthing those muscles in the fingers to enable us to eventually hold a pencil and start forming shapes and letters. There was lots of squishing, pulling, rolling, squeezing and creating. We made penguins🐧 using our ones from last week as a template and after rolling different sized balls we balanced them on top of each other to make different sized snowmen⛄️

We went straight from school to do our . The children discovered there were very few leaves on the trees but wanted to pick some so we could paint with them. Upon coming home we started off creating our leaf printing in winter colours, this then led to some amazing exploration of the paint talking about the temperature, texture and what happens when we mix the colours together.
