Cast iron is a popular choice for period properties, particularly those within conservation zones such as those in Greater London.

At a five-bedroomed, mid-Victorian property we worked on, the whole length of the railing running along the steps was missing — along with some individual balustrades from the side that remained.

At Churchgate House, we designed and manufactured an external Victorian spiral staircase to provide access to and from the raised roof terrace above the garage. With its narrow diameter and compact footprint, its design was ideal for the space, providing easy access without obstructing the path into the garage.

Did you know that we worked on a project for an exhibit in 2023?

Lisa Rawley, owner and manager of Fleur De Lys (the specialist conservatory plant nursery), was on the lookout for a spiral staircase after being inspired by a set she saw at Kew Gardens during the pandemic. She eventually came across a staircase that had laid in a field in Gloucestershire and got in touch with us to restore it for their display.

Collaboration was key in delivering this stunning double flight of bespoke straight staircases!

The baluster design for the wooden stairs was a continuous series of handmade balusters with a scroll at the top and a brass rosette on both sides.
