espoke items to the high quality you would expect whilst maintaining reasonable lead times and on budget. Working within the food industry, from small independent companies to large multi-nationals we have the experience
to deal with all the fabrication needs encountered on a day to day basis and also on major refurbishment projects including kerbs, gullies and wall protection, working closely with a of number flooring contractors and refrigeration panel installers to ensure quick turn around with minimum disruption. With the majority of our work coming from repeat clients we know the importance of deadlines, quality and budget and we aim to maintain these high standards at all times.

This week saw a lot of our team spending a day at Chard Rugby Club for First Aid Training with Dean at Highfield! The team all had a great day, surprising themselves with how much they already knew and how much more there was to learn 🤕
And finishing the day with a competition of who can get the 'choking' object the furthest, with Ian being the winner - topping off his day of a 9 year workiversary at Atom! 🥳

About Us:

We specialise in designing and fabricating custom equipment for various sectors, including food manufacturing, utilities, and construction sites. With a commitment to precision and innovation, we strive to deliver top-notch solutions that meet our clients' unique needs.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Draughtsperson to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in SolidWorks and be capable of producing detailed drawings and designs for our diverse range of projects. Additionally, the candidate must be available for site visits to customer locations, which may include food manufacturing facilities, utilities sites, and building sites.

Standard hours:
Monday- Thursday 07:30 - 16:30, Friday 07:30 - 12:00

Responsibilities:
- Utilise SolidWorks and collaborate with the engineering team to develop innovative solutions that meet client specifications and requirements.
- Conduct site visits to customer locations for project assessments, measurements, and installations.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to ensure project deadlines and objectives are met.
- Adhere to industry standards and best practices in drafting and design processes.

Requirements:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Previous experience as a Draughtsperson or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites for site visits and installations.
- Experience in the food manufacturing, utilities, or construction industry is preferred but not required.

✨IMPORTANT NEWS✨

We are incredibly honored and thrilled to announce that Atom Fabs has been invited to play a pivotal role in the next stage of the Chard redevelopment project – the 'Stringfellow Tower'.

This proposed 160-meter tall monument holds a special significance as it pays homage to Chard's very own, John Stringfellow. As a resident, he achieved the remarkable feat of recorded, powered flight, marking a historic moment in aviation history.

Being entrusted with the construction of the Stringfellow Tower is not just a project for us; it's a celebration of innovation, local history, and the spirit of progress. We are eager to bring our expertise in metal fabrication to contribute to the creation of this monumental tribute.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in this opportunity, and to the Chard community for entrusting us with such a significant project. We look forward to shaping the skyline and being a part of this historic endeavor.

Chard regeneration spokesperson Dr. Seymour Pranksmann said that this would put Chard, Somerset and the south west on the map and the Stringfellow tower would be a fitting tribute to a local pioner and plans would be in place to also pay tribute to James Gillingham and Margaret Bondfield in future stages.

The project is due to begin in early 2024 with a grand firework display on completion in the summer the following year
