We promise we do actually work really hard ๐ฅด we just have to let our brain have a little ski break sometimes โท๏ธ
You've been up the mountain all day. The sun is shining. You have an Aperol. The music is playing. Life is good ๐ปโ๏ธ๐น
Another mountain ick of ours... Things on helmets *
We know some wear them because they're the "lead skier" so they can keep their group together but we're just not on-board. ๐ชโท๏ธ
*If you're under 18, you're excluded from this ick
What are your mountain icks? Things you see up the mountain that make you just feel a bit funny and ew ๐คข
We'll go first... People that snowboard with their hands behind their back. Why? Why are you doing that? We are not in the olympic bordercross team, you do not need to do that ๐
A tip for Val Thorens if you have kids in nursery.
The drop off time is from 8:30 but the lifts don't open until 9:00. However, the magic carpets are running and the baby slopes are DEAD so jump on them and try something new. It's a great chance to get 30 minutes of switch practice in each day! ๐
Piste bashers will always make us as giddy as a toddler ๐ป๐โ๏ธ
A bit different vibes to yesterday in VT this morning โ๏ธ get that suncream on ๐
Val Thorens giving us snow ๐โ๏ธ
We know that flights can be a big factor in a ski holiday cost. While there are already some flights out now (Jet2, Ryanair, British Airways) with EasyJet releasing soon, and the fact they can often be very well priced when first released, we thought we'd share some of our top tips โ๏ธ
1. Know your log in details - your username and password (we do not recommend writing your password down ๐ถ) ๐
2. Make sure theyre the right details and tick "keep me signed in" so you dont have to keep re-entering.
3. Have your payment card ready. As it can be big amounts that you're paying, your bank may ask for an extra approval through the app or text message, ensure you have that device to hand. Have a second card ready incase of issues with your first. ๐ณ
4. Have a play with the website beforehand so you know where everything is, what order things will happen in and how to use it. Speed really is key in grabbing the bargain seats so anything to save time!๐ป
5. Know what it is you want to book. Where are you flying to? Where are you flying from (bear in mind some airports may be cheaper)? How many are in the group? If there are kids, what are their ages? Hold bags are often cheapest when added at the point of booking the flights so find out those requirements. Most importantly - HAVE THE RIGHT DATE! ๐๏ธ
6. Incognito mode can help if you're going to do a few searches. ๐ฅธ
7. One of the biggest ones - get up early! They won't tell you when the flights will go live on their website but it's normally really quite early (we're talking 6/7am). You can always sleep after you've bagged your best prices! โฐ
Go forth and book away! We wish you the best of luck! ๐ช
Who will be trying to grab those flights?
Here's what Sarah H packed for her recent short trip to Avoriaz (well most of it anyway, there's always last minute panic items!). ๐ผ
What's something you would always recommend taking on your ski trip?โท๏ธ
For us? Never forget those teabags! They're essential for a good ski trip โ
We often see people booking A LOT of luggage for their ski trips. Not only is this more expensive (both for flights, but in some cases on transfers too), it's extra work in the airport and in resort. You definitely don't need as much as you think! โ๏ธ
For 2 adults for 3 nights, 3 days skiing, Sarah H took 1 x 15kg hold bag and 1 x snowboard bag with a 20kg allowance (for 2 x snowboards and 2 x snowboard boots) so 35kg in total.
