Did you know the Cotswolds is nearly 800 square miles in size and spans six counties (Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Wiltshire, Somerset and Worcestershire)?

It is England’s largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is around 90 miles long and 25 miles across.

The Cotswolds is famous for its rolling hills and picture postcard villages which boast honey-coloured stone cottages like you’ll find in Broadway, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold. The highest point of the Cotswolds is Cleeve Hill near Cheltenham, followed by Broadway Hill (home to Broadway Tower).

📌 Your Cotswolds Itinerary 📌

There is no shortage of shops in the Cotswolds from large towns with all the high street names to quaint villages full of independent stores. Cheltenham has a bit of both, boasting a busy town centre full of household name brands but a short stroll up the hill will take you to Montpellier which has a host of boutique enterprises.

If you prefer independent stores and boutiques then visit Cirencester, Broadway (pictured) or Stow-on-the-Wold, they all have several unique shops and cosy tea rooms. There are also many regular markets – Stroud Farmer’s Market takes place every Saturday morning while Chipping Norton hosts a weekly Wednesday market.
