Our Shepherd’s Hut is self-catered accommodation just south of Chichester in a countryside village

Our hut is bigger than most (we know most others would say that) but it really is, it has a separate bathroom and bedroom with a spacious living area with doors opening out into the middle of nowhere.

Our TeePee setup 👌

We have all the essentials including our cosy double bed, little chair to chill out on, matting on the floor to make sure it’s cosy when you get out of bed and power so you can charge any electrical items 👍

Last weekend we went to try out - their tour and tasting were brilliant! They take you around the vineyard, sampling their sparkling wines as you go and then afterwards can sample some of their tasty food and continue to enjoy the beautiful setting with glass in hand.

Or if you want to enjoy their wines in our Shepherd's Hut just pop to the vineyard and pick yourself up a bottle.

Coffee stop The Boathouse Cafe on a walk from Dell Quay to Chichester Marina and back.

It's a 5-minute drive from our Shepherd's Hut to get to Dell Quay and it's a great walk all along the coast and lovely having a coffee break (you could even get yourself a cake or pastry goodie)!

DREAMY West Wittering Beach 🌊

This beautiful spot is East Head which is a National Trust site - it truly is magical, with rolling sands dunes and the sea surrounding, it's one you won't want to miss when visiting.

You can drive to West Wittering or if you're feeling like taking on a long walk, you can walk from our Shepherd's Hut 🚶‍♀️

HALNAKER WINDMILL ☀️

Route from Boxgrove Village Hall Car Park.

6.3km | 1hr 40min

The striking image of the Halnaker Windmill is an iconic part of the scenery around Chichester. To enable more people to visit this recently restored landmark, Boxgrove Parish Council has introduced a new, signed ‘Windmill Trail’ starting from Boxgrove Village Hall Car Park.

The fully signed trail leads walkers through the lanes of Boxgrove, onto Halnaker, then onto footpaths skirting the Tinwood Estate, before crossing onto Mill Lane – the often referred to ‘Tunnel of Trees’ - before bearing left to make the climb of 128m up Halnaker Hill itself, to the Windmill and spectacular views across the countryside and on a clear day, the sea.

CENTURIONS WAY 🚶

The Centurion Way is a 5.5 mile (9km) path that runs between Chichester, Lavant and West Dean following the old dismantled Chichester to Midhurst railway line, which closed in 1991.

It connects with the South Coast Cycle Route at Fishbourne, where cyclists can continue westwards to visit Fishbourne Roman Palace and Bosham. Northwards, the route continues to West Dean House and Gardens and the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum at Singleton.

Start: Bishop Luffa School (parking on the road)
Terrain: The route is mostly flat or slightly hilly
